One of my all time favorite weddings took place at the lovely and intimate Healdsburg Country Garden. The bride’s warm personality was reflected in the choices of the colors of the wedding, which included citrus grapefruit, creamy vanilla, and soft lime green. The so-in-love couple wanted their day to be about the Big 3 - family, friends and food. At the time of the wedding, the bride had been working for Barbara Llewellyn Catering, so the food was equally as tasty as it was visually appealing.
The ceremony took place under a large oak tree and kissing balls hung on copper garden stakes lined the outdoor lawn. Guests were invited to use paper umbrellas to shade themselves from the hot Sonoma sun. Groups of rectangular tables were lined up in three perfect rows and adorned with a matte silk-like linen in grapefruit. Being that the wedding was an elegant rustic affair, the use of European bistro cafe chairs and copper tinted pails were the perfect accents. After a sit down dinner, the guests were invited inside the rustic barn for dancing and desserts. And to cool off, an intimate lounge was set up under a trellis of grapevines. What a day - I’ll never forget this charming, rustic affair.
