Inspired Invitations

December 10th, 2008 @ 5:31 pm by Wiley Valentine

I wanted to showcase some invitations that we have created for brides that had a definite vision. Whether it be actual imagery, or simply a style or mood, invitations are a great way to set the stage for your event.

This invitation suite was created for a bride and groom who had a passion for peacocks. They loved the idea of having some sort of peacock imagery, but definitely didn’t want it too literal. Above is the result. We used a peacock feather swirl pattern throughout; combined with classic typography, the graphics really stood center stage. The design was continued on the envelope, which has become our signature touch. We utilize the envelopes as a canvas to complement what is inside.

This bride wanted a very classic look while still feeling modern. She loved the idea of incorporating subtle vintage inspired details alongside a muted color palette. We used a calligraphy style font and framed each card in a rich cream color.

Destination weddings, especially tropical weddings, can be some of my favorite invitations. This bride was getting married in Mexico and was using orchids in her bouquets and centerpieces. Using her orange color scheme and delicate orchids, we created a tropical style wedding invitation suite that complemented her wedding style. Inside the large pocket were all the coordinating pieces including a hand drawn map and a weekend events card.

It’s so much fun creating custom invitations for brides as it becomes a joint process we do together, translating their vision into an invitation!
