The first film I ever fell in love with was Merchant Ivory’s A Room with A View. I must have been 16 when my girlfriends and I went to see it in a small theater in North Berkeley. We loved it so much that we stayed to watch it twice through - back to back. We giggled when George went running around the pond in the buff. We applauded when our heroine finally realized that she could not deny who she was madly in love with. But the scene I never forget was when our hero dashingly crossed the field to steal a kiss from his beloved amongst a field of summery flowers. Perhaps that's why I love it when brides carry bouquets that look as if they were meant for another time, picked wild in the fields, and are full of movement like cornflowers blowing in the wind.
Here are some of my favorite bouquets that look as if they belong in a still life. So delicate, so sweet, so full of movement and life. They are picturesque.
