I’m so excited to share this lovely wedding with you through the lens of Mary Jane photography. Let’s get right into it!

Selena and I share a love of lace. Her beautiful dress had a timeless vintage feel to it, and her matching mantilla was the perfect complement. Selena also chose to wear a custom Twigs & Honey hairpiece. Darling!! I love Myra’s handiwork.

Hello, gorgeous! Selena made a breathtaking bride. She has the most beautiful, intense brown eyes. On the left is the groom’s rustic bout, featuring a rose, tuberose blossom + twigs.

Selena and Daniel chose to see each other before the ceremony in order to maximize their time for portraits. I love this tender moment Mary Jane caught between them.

On the left: when it comes to bouquets, iIsay the bigger the better! Selena carried a romantic, voluminous bouquet of mostly cream and blush roses. The eucalyptus leaves made the ideal sage accent. On the right: another sweet moment between the lovebirds!

Left: ficus trees on the patio were adorned with words of love and felicity. Center: Selena takes in the scene with the trolley behind her. Right: lemony iced tea + berry spritzers were offered to guests during the pre-ceremony welcome reception.

The couple traveled in style on the wedding day, opting to rent a classic car for transportation.

S+D on the steps of the historic Santa Barbara Mission, where they were wed in a traditional Catholic mass.

Clockwise from top left: the placesetting included a chocolate satin napkin, gocco’d menus and a fresh herb accent; eucalyptus-covered initials hung from the entrance doors of the reception room; table numbers were made using vintage postcards from various national parks; guests traveled via Santa Barbara trolleys; save-the-dates (by my candy paper) featured a sketch of the mission; we used half square tables, half round tables for guest seating.

More delicious details!! Clockwise from top left: a Martha Stewart-inspired cookie bar delighted guests; we created visual interest with the cookie bar by placing jars on various boxes wrapped with white paper. Take-away bags were nestled in a green trough; cookies were homemade by a friend of the bride!; the beautiful cake was displayed on a raised mezzanine area; ribbon wands for waving were placed in mason jars. Guests took them at the end of the night to celebrate the couple’s grand exit; the vintage cake topper was from the wedding of the groom’s parents.

Left: the head table was directly in front of the cake. A playful “Mr. & Mrs.” banner was hung behind the newlyweds; Center: centerpieces include 5′ birch branches with hanging votives; Right: the magnificent cake was cloaked in fondant and featured an oak leaf design.
One of my favorite details from this wedding was a late night snack. The waitstaff came out and tray-passed S’MORES. Yep, I said s’mores! At Selena’s urging, I had to try one. It was the perfect, nostalgic treat. I love dessert… especially unexpected, kitschy desserts. Yummm,
Thank you, Selena & Daniel, for allowing me to share in the vision and culmination of your big day! I loved working with the two of you. I love how they were able to make it fun and personal while still remaining very classic and elegant.
