Recently, a friend of mine asked me where I get my inspiration. I rather enjoy answering that question, though it changes often. Sometimes, I see a wonderful store front window and I admire its beauty. From that I want to create a floral centerpiece. Other times, I get it from fashion. However, the one thing that gives me to strongest source of creativity must be from my travels, especially to warm tropical environment. This table, designed originally for Bride and Bloom Magazine, was inspired by a past trip to the island of Bali, Indonesia. During the summer of 2000, my husband and I traveled to Bali and grew to appreciate the serenity of its spiritually devout people and the splendor of its sculpted rice fields.

I came home feeling this overwhelming sense of harmony and comfort. The Balinese are gentle, gracious, and spiritually soothing. This tablescape has that same sense of harmony and simplicity. Weathered wooden table, teak sturdy benches with cushions, calming seafoam hues, and lush anthurium arrangements were used to create a well balanced design. Asian paper lanterns hung over the table added to this most understated table decor. Enjoy!
