I hope you're ready for some deeeelicious eye candy today!! Suthi & Sanjay's November wedding was one of my very favorite of the year, no question about it. I first met suthi in 2006. She was the 2nd shooter for the fab Danielle Biel of Skye Blu Photography and we hit it off immediately. Suthi now runs Picotte Photography; check her out! I loved seeing her at events and having her as a colleague, but I was touched, honored and delighted when she asked me to help her plan and coordinate her own wedding. It was a DREAM working with her as she and i share a very similar aesthetic and style. She and Sanjay are both artists (he is a filmmaker) so creativity oozed from every detail of this wedding.

We had an INCREDIBLE dream team of vendors on board that day, so check for details at the end of the post! The event unfolded at the uber-hip Marvimon in Los Angeles. It was the ideal backdrop for their bold and colorful event. Now enjoy this look at the day through the lenses of the amazingly talented Amy & Stuart. I ADORE this husband + wife photography team and their stylish, emotive work. Their photos blew me away and I had the hardest time picking my favorites. I hope you don't mind me indulging myself with a very photo-heavy post.

Holly (florist extraordinaire) crafted a bright and funky bouquet composed of peonies (yes, in december!), roses, orchids, and succulents.

How amazing is this entry way vignette?? It is an all-out visual assault from top to bottom!! Gorgeous metallic sari fabric was draped against the wall. You can spy a fabulous manzanita “aviary” with two peacocks, a brass urn filled with marigolds, a fluted turquoise vase topped with orchids and feathers, various scatterings of loose blooms and monstera leaves (my fave!!), a chocolate brown armchair, and a display of various family treasures.

Here's a close-up of some of those family treasures: antique photographs and posted letters, as well as a hand-drawn family tree that Suthi made. It was amazing to see how she traced her heritage, which includes Susan Lafleshe Picotte. This vignette, dotted with personal touches like these, really created a stunning first impression on guests.

Welcome to Marvimon! I adore this signature sign as well as the beloved goat head. The couple loved it so much they wanted to sit directly under the goat! All seating was at long, rough-hewn wooden tables. Marvimon has a few on-site, and we rented the rest.

The gorgeous, blissful couple!! Isn't Suthi just stunning? Sanjay donned traditional attire with a comfy pair of Chuck Taylors.

Their heartfelt, moving ceremony was performed by a dear friend. Some of their other talented pals contributed with two musical performances: an INCREDIBLE rendition of “hallelujah” (originally by Leonard Cohen but covered hundreds of times) and a lovely interpretation of “In My Life” by the Beatles. I brushed away tears as they joyfully embraced as husband and wife. Some guests sat on wooden benches, while others gathered casually in the back for the brief ceremony.

Nothing but joy in this photo. Pure joy! I love the ceremony décor: a luxurious swag of sari fabric, along with three thick “rope” garlands of marigolds (a significant bloom in Indian weddings).

Now prepare yourself for massive tablescape overload! I could not get enough of the florals at this wedding, so I decided to share as much as possible with you! We had four long tables (16′ long each), and each had a different napkin color (purple turquoise, fuschia, and orange). All of the tables were lined with a moss runner and topped with the most delectable assortment of antique glassware and vessels filled with various colorful blooms. The look was fun, hip, and wildly whimsical — my favorite!

And finally..the purple napkin table! I loved how each table had its own special treasures since all of the vessels were unique. They created a fresh, “collected” feeling but still were cohesive in style.

This intriguing display was crafted for the favors: gourmet truffles. The gold boxes were playfully arranged with fresh mushrooms and geodes. Seriously magical.

Glass pedestals and cloches made delightful stands for the display. This entire spread was holly's masterwork — she is truly an artistic genius.

A beautiful first dance shot. I wish you could hear their friend performing an exquisite acoustic rendition of Roy Orbison's “You've Got It.” Incredible!!

I hope you enjoyed drinking up the beauty in this post. I loved just going through the images and putting it together!! I had an outstanding vendor team with me for this wedding and I'd be remiss to forget any of them. I can't wait to collaborate with all of these artists again soon! • Florals by Hollyflora. Holly brings a dizzying & unique sense of style to the table, overflowing with creative ideas that will dazzle the senses. She contributed vessels from her personal collection for all of the mini-arrangements. What I would do for her killer stash of vintage goblets and vases… oh man!
• Rentals by Classic Party Rentals. They have a great selection, excellent wares and top-notch service.
• Red Cheese Photobooth: always a crowd pleaser!
• Jessica Foster Confections for the sublime truffles.
• Sprinkles Cupcakes for a sweet treat dessert.
