Last month I was so kindly asked to design a tabletop for Emily at Once Wed. She has a table trends feature on her blog that is wonderful. Now the real challenge was to stay on a $200 budget for a beautiful table that could give many brides inspiration. There were a lot of extras I could add on my own to give the full picture of the event: invitations, food ideas, favor ideas, the bouquet or boutonniere; but the table: dinnerware, glassware, centerpiece, linens, etc. had to stay at the budget.
So the theme I chose to work with was a Rustic Winter Creekside Wedding with a bit of holiday kitsch. Red buttons, bakers twine, and a few of our favorite things will pull in the kitschy parts…
Here are some pictures of the invites I designed to go with the ideas. Red, light teal, and brown are the colors. The invite was placed in a muslin pouch I made, and put into a kraft paper envelope. These ideally would be letterpress invites!

I made raw muslin napkins with red stitching. I only really wanted hints of red on the table to keep it more rustic and natural.

I loved doing this design and seeing my vision come to life. I especially loved making my pretend wedding bouquet and boutonierre. I really love flower arranging. I cannot wait to take on some more tabletop designs for Emily. My brain is swarming with ideas… I feel so privileged and giddy. ![]()
