About angelswanson

Peggy & Johnny and I met in Beverly Hills, and I was instantly drawn to their vision for a classic and elegant wedding at the historic Greystone Mansion. Peggy is actually an incredibly talented graphic designer, so she knew she would want to play a large role in creating the lovely printed ephemera for her day. We discussed a cool, crisp color palette that would focus on soft pastels. Sage green and sky blue would be prominently featured against accents of chocolate and gold, keeping the overall feel of the event fresh and polished.

We brought Kate Baker onto our team of vendors for all the floral design. Her arrangements perfectly evoked the romantic and graceful mood we sought for the wedding. Peggy also ended up developing a lovely theme for all of the wedding stationery that suggested the idea of a love story or book. The invitations were designed to look like a book, and the programs and menus were later “chapters” of the same love story. Check out the incredible outcome below! Peggy & Johnny's wedding was truly a stunning affair, that delighted on both a visual and emotional level.

I have to begin with these precious portraits of Peggy. Check out the darling scalloped hem of her gown, and the scrumptious bouquet featuring ivory peonies and roses, accented by soft blue tufts of hydrangea. Ribbons dotted with rosebuds trailed daintily below the base of the bouquet.

I just love this bridal party shot. The fantastic sea-foam green wall in the background is one of my favorite things at Greystone. ;-)

Kate adorned the back row of chairs with charming floral nosegays. rRght: the ceremony site was set with dark mahogany wood folding chairs and a custom-made white carpet runner.

The kiss & joyful recessional!

The beautiful couple shared a very tender bond. I admit to shedding some tears throughout the evening, like when Peggy toasted her new husband… and when Johnny re-read his personal vows to Peggy during the reception.

Some gorgeous details: top left - the book-like menu held a pair of chopsticks in its ’spine'; bottom left - escort cards included adorable mini-buttons (with each guest's first name); center - favors included a box of matches and a candle + tart burning tin; right - the incredible invitation and programs, featuring the whimsical book-like design. ;-)

When the couple made their grand entrance, Peggy made her debut in this striking white qi pao.

YUM!! A tempting treats station was a visual treat as well! We used various footed glass bowls, apothecary jars, and pedestals to showcase the couple's favorite treats. Pictured above are the rice crackers, Almond Roca toffee, Ferrero Rocher chocolates (my fave!!), Lindt truffles, See’s hard candies and biscotti. Peggy's darling signage coordinated perfectly.

More intensely beautiful details. their cake was a sight to behold… Rosebud Cakes created the fondant-covered confection, and we showcased it in its own dramatic cabana. To keep things personalized, Peggy & Johnny supplied their own Kate Spade striped cake plates + server. Square and round tables were set with mocha linens and gold chiavari chairs, accented by chocolate chair ties. Manzanita branches with clusters of roses + hydrangea, accented by crystals and anchored by moss, made dramatic centerpieces.

A sweet view of the couple, enjoying the slideshow.

What an altogether lovely event! thank you again to Michael Norwood for your incredible photography & general fabulousness. ;-) We love working with you!

Thanks are also in order for Dickenson West Fine Catering, Smart Party Rentals, the aforementioned Kate Baker Florals, and Rosebud Cakes. what a gorgeous collaboration!

P & J: you are such a unique and beautiful couple! I wish you only the best as you continue to learn & grow together in your marriage. Lots of love! xoxo, angel
