This just-for-fun post features some elements that I’m especially drawn to as a florist.

Shannon and Yossi had an amazing wedding at Kate Sessions Park in San Diego in April this year. If I haven’t said it lately, I love my job! I get the best couples. This wedding was so full of joy, I was so happy to be a part of it. Shannon and Yossi came all the way from New York City to get married in sunny San Diego surrounded by family and friends. So here are a few images from their day, including one of my all-time favorite ceremony shots ever! Guess which one. So congrats to Shannon and Yossi! Mazel tov!

Warmest Wishes!
I’m so crazy in love with Laurah & Jeff and their wedding. What’s not to love?! They are so in love with each other, so appreciative of their friends and family, and they chose one of the most amazing locations ever. Laughter, tears, hugs, kisses, getting crazy on the dance floor… seriously, they had it all.

Most of you out there reading this are probably already familiar with Snippet and Ink, a daily source of lovely and amazingly curated wedding inspiration, but I just wanted to sing its praises anyway! Kathryn always has impeccable taste, and I love how her seasonal inspiration boards are always uncannily dead-on, even when they are all so wildly different. For example; the two wintry lovelies below! First off, a stark white board:
Here are two invites that I just finally got around to photographing to put on my website. One is for the wedding I just featured of Courtney & Erin. The other is for a super great couple, Kari & Rick that went off to Mexico to marry! Both are beachy, but with a different feel and theme. All are a blend of letterpress and ink jet; I love doing mixed media pieces because it really enhances the design.
I can’t wait to see the pictures from Kari and Rick’s wedding. I also photographed their ceremony program that I made as a fan, thanks to the help of Susanne of Cards de Luxe. I designed and printed them and she supplied me with the shape templet, die cut and assembled them. There is no way I could have done this without her help! Thanks Susanne. Make sure to check out her beautiful portfolio!
I am also posting a few pics of the arrangement I made to feature the invite of Courtney & Erin. I really love making arrangements; it is a hobby I would like to pursue one day.
Cheers!
Peggy & Johnny and I met in Beverly Hills, and I was instantly drawn to their vision for a classic and elegant wedding at the historic Greystone Mansion. Peggy is actually an incredibly talented graphic designer, so she knew she would want to play a large role in creating the lovely printed ephemera for her day. We discussed a cool, crisp color palette that would focus on soft pastels. Sage green and sky blue would be prominently featured against accents of chocolate and gold, keeping the overall feel of the event fresh and polished.
We brought Kate Baker onto our team of vendors for all the floral design. Her arrangements perfectly evoked the romantic and graceful mood we sought for the wedding. Peggy also ended up developing a lovely theme for all of the wedding stationery that suggested the idea of a love story or book. The invitations were designed to look like a book, and the programs and menus were later “chapters” of the same love story. Check out the incredible outcome below! Peggy & Johnny’s wedding was truly a stunning affair, that delighted on both a visual and emotional level.
I have to begin with these precious portraits of Peggy. Check out the darling scalloped hem of her gown, and the scrumptious bouquet featuring ivory peonies and roses, accented by soft blue tufts of hydrangea. Ribbons dotted with rosebuds trailed daintily below the base of the bouquet.

In this country lives a family, in the wilds of West Virgina, among acres and acres of hills and ridges and a house they built with their own hands, all the pieces of which, add up to a way of life that I long for. Interestingly enough, and this is a rare case for me, I didn’t take a lot of pictures. Because I wanted to go brush a horse, I wanted to roll in the grass with the neighborhood dog, and generally appreciate my surroundings, so I didn’t step outside and look in as usual. But I did break out the camera momentarily, so that I might record the expressions of this amazing little person. Cooper.
Cooper had not yet been named, when police officers found him swaddled in toddler clothes on a bench just outside the hospital doors. His umbilical cord and placenta was still attached, and there was a couple of weeks of coverage in the local papers, about how the Safe Haven Law saved his life, about how sad it was that a woman might leave her child, though it might have been an act of love when she made the choice to leave him in a safe place where he would be taken care of.
From all the coverage, there were so many people who wanted to take him home. Reuben sent Katherine an email one day upon reading the article, and it said:
We have to get this baby.
And they threw their name in the running, they followed everything by the book, and of all the many people extending their want and love of this very wanted baby, suddenly the hospital called. Would you like to come see him? They were elated. They already have one very young foster child who I hadn’t the pleasure to meet, but it looked like that they suddenly would be going from no babies to 2 babies under the age of 2.
They were in the parking lot. The baby was having heart trouble, and they asked if they could name him before he went into surgery. Cooper. His name was Cooper.

Heather and Barry are two of the most stylish, artistic, creative people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The buzz words that kept coming up in our consultation were “whimsical”, “cozy”, “artistic” and “lush”. I couldn’t wait to get to work on their florals- it was so much fun to be completely surrounded by sunny yellow and cream flowers and fresh lemons for 3 days while I designed the bouquets and centerpieces. The types of flowers I get to work with can really lift my mood!
I can’t wait to share more of the details of this wedding with you.Ttheir fabulous photographers, Heather and Jon of One Love Photography, took this particular batch of photos with their “Big Papa” lens, which Jon created by taking apart an old camera and using the parts to fashion his own lens. The results? Fuzzy, textured photos that perfectly capture the dreaminess of the day. This wedding is definitely one of my faves! Be sure to check out the One Love blog post to get the full story on these images.
I don’t even know where to start with a post about Colleen and Jimmy’s wedding. I had been looking forward to their wedding for over a year, since shooting their engagement photos at Coney Island last August after they won the engagement photo contest giveaway of 2007. If you go back and read those two posts I think you will see why they hold a special place in my heart. I felt like I knew them so well already and of course had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy’s family last summer. Over the past year Colleen and I had exchanged many, many emails about the wedding planning, the gown, the flowers, etc… To see it all come together was awesome.
And the wedding day was a blast. Fun. Funny at times (I could do an entire post on the limo ride over to the ceremony itself!). Emotional. Joyful. A few tears. A little bit of nervousness. Lots of friends and family, tons of hugs and kisses. Thank you both again for letting me be a part of your wedding. You both deserve only the best. Enjoy!
