Courtney @ Flush Designs's Picture
Flush Designs, Pasadena Vendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, Photography Website: Flush Designs About Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
About Courtney @ Flush Designs

Here is a design for a recent wedding in Scotland. :) This was originally the design for their June wedding save the date, but the couple decided to move the date up and we changed it to the invite! But it turned out absolutely beautiful.

As it needed to be completed in about 10 days and I already had plans for Thanksgiving in AZ, I actually had to send this out to get letterpress printed to Spark Letterpress Printing Company. This is my first design I have not printed myself. :( However, it felt really good to just design and POOF it came back all done. I loved it. No stressing over the printer, no crazy ink mixing, no crying, no sore leg or sore arms…. I think I might do this more often for the bigger jobs for sure. I can take on more volume this way too. It does feel weird to not have printed it all myself, but I must say I am proud of the design!! More designing, more clients…. I can also do more challenging designs that I couldn’t print myself. This is a good thing!

The image on the top is a drawing of the venue in which they will be married. It’s so pretty on the lake surrounded by mountains. The hydrangea and the Scottish thistle design on the back are to represent her and him (he is Scottish). I wanted to pull in the casual rustic feel they were going after by doing a stitching all around the invite, giving it a bit of softness.

I love all of the elements of this invitation from the colors, the different fonts, the floral motif and the extra detail of stitching. I’ve been seeing more and more stitching on stationary. Can you give some tips on how to do it? I worry that I would ruin the paper??

These are beautiful. If you dont mind me asking what fonts did you use and what size lettering is that? Most letterpress invites i see have been hard to read and those are perfect.
