Megan and Peter are an extraordinary couple, and are perfectly suited for one another. They both share a love for travel and are deeply committed to their families. It was a treat getting to know them both throughout the planning process, and I felt that the wedding really reflected the joy and ease they enjoy in their relationship. Since Megan and Peter met (on a bus!) in Guatemala, they wanted to incorporate some colorful, Latin-inspired elements into their wedding celebration. We started with a warm palette of burnished oranges, deep reds and accents of earthy khaki. The look was elegant yet unpretentious.
Here is a glimpse of their wedding day..

The gorgeous couple. Doesn't Megan bear an uncanny resemblance to Claire Danes??

Bridal portraits took place near Pasadena City Hall. I LOVED Megan's bouquet, created by the talented Michelle Brue of Flora by Fauna. Mango callas and two-tone tulips made for a rich, luscious, textural bouquet.

here's a closer look at that yummy bouquet! on the right are the programs megan made, utilizing a wedding motif of macaws.

The bridesmaids wore sassy red dresses that worked beautifully with the color scheme. Megan & Peter were married by co-officiants… Peter's aunt, a practicing Catholic nun, paired with a dear friend of the couple. The ceremony was heartfelt and very personalized. I love that they chose to be married with the striking wrought iron gates of the LARC behind them!

A wide shot of the ceremony

These photos really highlight Megan's romantic mantilla veil. I still wish I wore one for my big day in 2005!

Trom left to right: the guestbook table, adorned with family photos; placecards displayed on fabric-covered corkboard and colorful ribbons; the bridesmaids bouquets on display.

Ugh! Don't you love these table settings? We started with khaki colored linens, topped with handmade raw silk runners in either cranberry or rust. Michelle created 3 lovely arrangements for each table: a plantable succulent, a cheery grouping of tulilps, and a striking vase overflowing with james storei orchids. Amber-colored votive holders and chocolate-colored napkins completed the look.

Here's a closer look at those yummy details!
Megan + Peter: I hope you are still basking in the glow of wedded bliss. I wish you both all the best; keep in touch!
xoxo, angel

Beautiful wedding…
Even before I read what you said, I thought she looks like a cross between Claire Danes and Claire Forlani.
