Katie’s Flowers

January 13th, 2009 @ 2:05 pm by Megan @ Princess Lasertron

Kelly Lautenbach recently posted about her daughter Kelly’s wedding and the unique circumstances that brought us together last November. After Garrett’s (the groom) mother was in a car accident on November 17th, the rest of the family decided to move the wedding up a day and have the wedding in the hospital so Garrett’s mother could attend. For this short-notice wedding, Kelly needed some short-notice flowers, and came to me for assistance.

I put Katie’s bouquet together in a weekend and it was pretty hectic between both of our schedules, but it worked out well for Katie and Garrett, and Garrett’s mom and the entire family.

Their story was even featured in a local newspaper and there is a video from a local newscast (sorry I can’t embed it.)

My mom said that these were her favorite flowers so far…definitely her colors.

I wish you two luck and all the happiness in the world, and a continued recovery for Garrett’s mom. xo

Those are so great, I bet that with it being in a hospital not having fresh flowers was better for other patients. Just beautiful it is amazing what you create with such simple supplies.

What a special story, thanks for sharing that. I love to know that there was extra special meaning behind the flowers.
