I have an uncle who lives in Moscow, and I asked him to collect some buttons for me around the city.
I expected a dozen or so.
I got about 200! These are just a few of my very favorites.
I also expected them to be really similar to ones I have here, collected in the U.S. I guess they are similar in that they have holes and are made to fasten garments… but you know what I mean.
They are so dazzling.
Almost edible!
Okay, I toot my horn a lot… that is what blogs are for. That's part of why we do it. But I am really proud of my button stash. Hundreds of pounds. And they are all hand-picked by me or the button fairy or people like my uncle who love to help me out. It's easier to use mass-produced commercial buttons, but I know my way is more fun.

Very cool. I’d love to know more about where you get your buttons. I find that the really cool ones can be really expensive!
I never knew that buttons could be so pretty and fun! What do you do with the buttons you collect? Do you use them in projects for yourself or for weddings? I feel like it would be so hard to part with them!
@Michelle @ My Wedding Report: I use almost all of them for weddings and the rest go to other sales and projects. I actually don’t make a lot of stuff for myself…hopefully someday I will get some time!
@Miss Peep Toe: I get them all over…mostly vintage/antique stores! I travel a lot and keep my ear to the ground for good resources, too.
