Serendipity is a funny thing, but New York, at the end of the day, is the smallest town in the world. I say this because in my world, everyone comes here eventually, for brief or long periods of time. But it seems to be the case, as an artist in a community of artists, that New York City is a stop on the way somewhere else. It has been so for me.
Of all the applications I received for this associate position, I was immediately drawn to one email in particular; aside from the familiar sounding name, here was someone from my home state, with my same sunshine-y, in love with being married, happy and laid back mentality, as far as I could tell. I had a good feeling, anyway. And upon further inspection, Micah seemed to be a great match.
So I called him to come and meet with me, and to my utter surprise and slight suspicion, we were old thespian acquaintances from way back when in my great home state of California! It was just so perfect and fluffy, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to pick up those dear couples I have to turn down for one reason or the other.
To be clear - he shoots. I edit. So, Please give a warm welcome to a new member of the Bean Team, Micah (it was cold outside!):
It doesn’t take many months of marriage to find that from here on out life will never look the same. In-fact, seconds after “I do” you are forever changed. I’m closing in on my first year of marriage and everything is more beautiful today than it was three hundred and fifty two days ago. I can’t help but want to capture this change in others for as many days a year as I can! I want to be a part of the human story, to take part in it, to retell it, to encourage others in it. I suppose it’s strangely fitting (some in more obvious ways than others) that I love change, folk music, Australian Shepherds, am left handed, can never see enough of the world, and have a twin brother (not sure how that’s relevant, but interesting none-the-less). Texan-born and California raised in a family of artists, I am, like most people here in the big apple, a New York City transplant and am enjoying life through this new lens.

The rate at which you have grown is just mind-blowing Punam. Well I guess not mind-blowing considering your talent, but I have to say props to you, from what I understand it usually takes photographers several years to reach this point. And didn’t you just launch into the wedding world 2 or so years ago?
