About Sabrina & Eunice @ Hello! Lucky

Nest cover banner

It feels totally crazy and surreal, but my house was featured in November’s Nest magazine.

First page

Shooting the article was so much fun - we had incredible team of creative folks to work with, including stylist Anthony Albertus, writer Riann Smith, photographer David A. Land and stylists Yael Gitai and Racine Christensen along with The Nest's wonderful creative director Lisa Aelion.

Lounge

Above, our lounge/TV room, bar, and built-in dining nook.

Bedroom

Our bedroom and garden, which was designed by Pete Vafiades, the most awesome gardener ever (he worked with the previous owners of our house to turn the garden from a sad patch of dirt to an urban oasis!).

Bathroom

Videographer Kathi Watson filmed Sabrina giving a tour of her house, pointing out highlights including a magnificent and, let's face it, weird piece of 70s textile art!

San Francisco Faves

Finally we included shout-outs to some of our favorite Bay Area haunts, including Tail of the Yak, Bi-Rite Creamery and Blue Bottle café. So there you have it, 5 minutes of fame! Hurrah!

Thanks, guys! Decorating is my pet creative outlet! :) It was a real exploration — my biggest lesson was that it takes months to understand the basic vibe of a place, which needs be the foundation of the decorating aesthetic. Example: I initially went through a vintage French country phase (inspired by the Victorian elements of the house), including an old metal bird cage, worn linen and taxidermy (!) — before I realized it was totally wrong for the house! My husband gleefully put all that stuff on the curb when I hit that decision! He’s much happier now! :)

the problem we’re having now is that my style is a lot more feminine than mr. bee’s. was that a problem you had to reconcile? i consider myself a tomboy, but inside i’m just a girly girl. ;)

i love, i love! guitars count as decor in our home as well. I love the way you styled your rooms around your shared passions. And that bookcase…I swear I keep everything but books on my bookcases. They are just too pretty to hide behind a tall stack of paperbacks.
