Umm… yeah. If I were to put together a dream team, this would be freaking IT! And I’m all signed up and ready to go, and you should get in soon (I mean, if you are in to wedding photography, anyway) before it’s all sold out (click below)!! Go forth, and good luck! And see you in Santa Fe!

I regularly get emails from stationery vendors and pr firms that represent stationery companies, where the word “stationery” is misspelled. When I click over to their website, I usually find that it’s also misspelled there too. Even though I feel bad, I always let them know because I figure I’d want to know if I were them?
If you’ve been spelling it wrong all this time, don’t feel bad… I did too before Weddingbee! ![]()

We recently held our 2009 Stationery Preview party and are thrilled to report that it was a huge success! We collaborated with some of the most amazing wedding vendors in the Bay Area to transform our working letterpress studio into a beautiful event space complete with red carpet! Above, the fab Morgan Doan, event planner extraordinaire and mastermind behind this event, and me chatting by the welcome table. Our sponsor booklet featured our new Sparrow design by Joel Dewberry.

Love it! Did I mention I love NYC? I usually get to shoot at least one wedding a year in New York and am beyond giddy with anticipation between the time I book it and the time I actually get to shoot it. I always schedule a few other shoots for my trip, just to try and get as much in as I can! 2 trips ago I got to photograph Cara and Wes’ engagement. They were planning a wedding in Italy (and already had a photographer, sigh!) but wanted NYC engagement photos to use as decor at their wedding. We had a blast and ran all around the West Village and shot up and down the streets of the sesame street houses. Here are a few photos from the day. I can’t wait to go back this fall!
We’ve been getting a lot of requests in the studio from people looking to incorporate hand calligraphy into their invitation suite. Many times brides are designing the invites themselves or are working with their own stationer and do not want to commission calligraphy for the entire piece, but only a few words. It makes for a great effect, and can be used throughout the invitation suite as well as in the reception items.

Last summer, we took my brother and his beauty-of-a-wife out to a new secret location for some “just for fun” fashionable shots of the two of them. We told both of them to get as crazy-stylish as they wanted and we would take care of the rest! We had been pushing this photo sitting with Kenny and Jill for quite some time; we wanted to get new photos of them since the last official photo sitting we did with them was on their wedding day in June of 2003 (this was our very first wedding!!!!!). Someday we will have get around to posting some of their wedding photos — its’ just hard because we shot the whole thing on 35mm film! I think we did a pretty good job too, but we have definitely grown by leaps and bounds since then!
So here’s the shoot, amazing and fun, I had a super difficult time narrowing down my favorites!

Blueprint, Country Home, Cottage Living, Teen Vogue, House & Garden… now Domino Magazine is on its way out too. The magazine is folding according to NYMag.com. So sad to see the end of another great design magazine that has brought so much inspiration to so many of us.

R.I.P., Domino. You were my favorite–prettier than Lucky and cheaper than Vogue Living.
The main channels for design ideas and resources are really going to the blogs. We do exist in kind of a symbiotic relationship with magazines, though–bloggers get new and exciting ideas from the magazines, and magazines gather fresh, as-it-happens observations from industry professionals in the blogosphere. In other words, we need each other!

I absolutely adore Beth & Fred. Spending time with them is like sitting in on an “I Love Lucy” show - there’s just so much comedy, sarcasm, and love in the air that I think I walked away from our engagement session with cheek cramps from laughing so much! They have a really cute home in Washington, DC (loooove the green wall and don’t even get me started on all of the awesome furniture) which they share with their adorable dog, Ruckus.
Continuing from yesterday’s post, here are more of the photos I took of the floral arrangements around the office alongside some floral inspired work we have done.
