To me, a polished wedding has a cohesiveness that is sewn from the beginning to the end. A wonderful motif threads itself into the different aspects of the design. Take for instance, Noriko and John who recently got hitched at the picturesque B. R. Cohn Winery in Sonoma. They came to me with a few ideas, but nothing really stuck until Noriko, the bride, pulled out their invitations with this clever and serene wheat motif.

After that I quickly clung to this theme until I was able to thread it into many of the decor concepts. You can see how I repeat this strong motif with the napkin treatment. We also threaded printed place cards through the ribbon chair decor. This is a wonderful idea that I first saw at a wedding designed by Rebecca Feeney of Custom Event Group. I thank her for this whimsical inspiration.

In the centerpieces for their long table reception, we added elements of grass and textures of wonderful, green foliage to add to the decor. Karin, my assistant and I had such a great time photographing these fine details.
