Musical Art Deco Inspired

February 12th, 2009 @ 3:58 pm by Wiley Valentine

The WV Couture process is really fun. We work one on one with the couple to create custom invitations that reflect them perfectly. This is one of my favorite couples. Sarah was such a dream to work with, and we had such a great time creating these invitations. We started with an inspiration board which was made up of images I found that reflected the couple's interests and passions, among those music, art deco and swing dancing.

We moved on to her invitations for which we created a pocket style presentation. We included song quotes, art deco imagery, and font styles that reflected their style. The green color was custom matched from fabric swatches she sent to me of her bridesmaid dresses!

Robin from the amazingly talented Bellissima Photography was so sweet to share her photographs from Sarah's wedding. It was so fun to see how everything came together . Some of the items we created for her included table cards, booklet style programs, personalized escort cards and meal selection cards.

I love that green! Do you know from where the bridesmaid dresses came?

Hi - blightygirl - this is Sarah, the bride from Rachelle’s post. The dresses were from Charsa - http://www.charsa.com. I had a difficult time finding the color green I wanted and looked at just about every bridesmaid dress company out there. Apparently green was not the most popular color last year when i was looking. The color name is Emerald, which you can see on their website! They were really good to work with - they didn’t have any stores around me - so they sent me 3 different styles of dresses for the girls to try on- we decided on a dress and then sent in their measurements. It worked out well! Hope this helps!
