About nancyliuchin

Valentine’s Day is a holiday where people often panic at the last moment and race to their local florist to buy a dozen red roses with foliage. Nothing is wrong with this. Nothing at all. But hey, how about something else this year?

As my husband will tell you, I forbid him to do this. Please, I have nothing against roses or red. I love red roses; it’s simply that I just don’t want a vase with the standard dozen red roses arranged with foliage.  How about 3 small cubes with a pave of red roses with a modern ti leaf wrap instead?

And if it isn’t red, why not something that looks like spring with green hydrangea, purple lisianthus and other fun flowers.

Or a charming little box with a sweet bow and lovely white flowers?

Or something colorful in another equally passionate color like vibrant oranges!

What are your favorite flowers to give and receive?

None of your pictures are showing up. I think this happened in a previous post also. FYI.

I would love to see what you came up with!

I totally agree! I tell my hubby that I’d rather have a fistful of daisies and daffodils than long stem red roses any day. Guys try to be so safe sometimes, but I’d love to receive any of the arrangements you posted. They’re gorgeous!

I got the standard red roses, but I showed him the photos from above and told him and of those would also be happily accepted!
