About Amina @ Still Motion

Last June, I had the pleasure of shooting Natalie and Mike, an awesome couple whose wedding was at a historical site in Vineland, ON.

I had been looking forward to their wedding so much since we first met just over a year earlier. It seemed that right from the get-go, they put all their trust in me, knowing that the more freedom I had, the more amazing their photos (and day) would be.

Their day was quite unique. The girls had a yoga session in the morning to relax themselves, and then they went to put some final touches into their reception decorations. After they were all dressed and done up, they drove to the chapel in a Mustang convertible, giving Natalie’s hair a good dose of adventure. She looked awesome.

But the best part of the day for me was when Natalie and Mike crawled into the waterfall. It was 15 minutes before the reception was to start, and Natalie commented on how refreshing the water looked. Next thing I knew, we were all in the water doing an “on-the-wedding-day” trash the dress shoot!

So a big thanks goes out to Natalie and Mike for being so awesome, and to Cyndal as well, who was a great help in general (she came out and assisted me with some photo-related things).

Yes they did! It was awesome.

During their introductions to the reception, they left wet marks as they walked. I have a great photo of the wet floor they left behind. :)

Wow, that is definitely a bride who is living in the moment. She definitely got some gorgeous photos out of it!

We’re doing this too! DW in Puerto Rico and I want ocean pics. However I’m prepared…My fiance and I both have 2 outfits. I had my huge ballgown skirt turned into 2 slim A line skirts to go with my corset! Fun…

I’m sorry but I think that is really weird. To show up to your own reception sopping wet? I guess it worked for them, but what a mess, and if I were a guest I would be weirded out.

You know, it was very impromptu. It was a very hot day and Natalie said to me “man that water looks refreshing”. Next thing I knew, she was walking in.

After the wedding, we got together to view the images at our studio and they both said that the time in the waterfall was one of the biggest highlights of their day. I remember Mike saying to Natalie “you are the coolest girl I have ever met” as she walked out of the water.

For them it was so much about the experience. And they enjoyed every minute of it.

It was so hot that 20 minutes into the reception they were almost dry again - but their glowing faces remained for the rest of the night.

Good for them. I am getting married in 2 weeks in Cuba and have just told my mom and mother in law that I want to do just that :)

I think for all the memories you will have why not. What else would you do with the dress.
