Meet Miranda.
Miranda was getting married in New Orleans and asked me if I could help her with her look.
Miranda wrote that she is “looking for a look that is sophisticated, but which doesn’t draw attention to the make-up. My dress is simple, modern, 30s inspired, and unadorned. How do I create a look that will work for my outdoor daylight ceremony (around sunset) and also look good in my candlelit, indoor reception…and also look great in the pictures?”
Please check out the detailed product list and application that I created for her bridal look.

I had the rare pleasure of not being the one in charge when Ryan Brenizer invited me to join him at Yelena and Wassim’s fabulous wedding, and I had a blast! Here are some of my favorites:

One of our more intricate save the date wedding maps is the bi-fold. This folded card is designed either horizontally or vertically depending on your location. It offers four panels for writing. This one of Jamaica includes the cover page, the map, the formal save the date, and hotel and travel information on the reverse. It is held together in the envelope by a double-faced satin ribbon in a pleasant mango color. It also incorporates a fun pineapple envelope liner. Read more…
We get a lot of requests to shoot on the UC Berkeley campus. Every time Jerry and I start a shoot there, we try our hardest to do something unique. Luckily the campus is peppered with interesting backdrops and strange “tree people” who we would encounter on a later shoot.
This shoot was particularly easy because Kyle knows how to make Tiffany laugh. They were so open to doing anything for the shot. We asked them to do a running jump over us over and over again, to learn precariously over the edge of a tall stump, and, hardest of all, for Kyle to imitate Tiffany’s silly faces. This proved more challenging than it sounds since Tiffany is remarkably dexterous at making faces! It was so much fun working with you guys. I’m excited to see your photo-wedding favors.

Tiffany and Kyle wanted an image where we shot through stuff and they would be behind it. We walked around campus looking for good places to do this when we settled on this patch of tall grasses. I later realized that this area is actually a dry retention pond for dirty run-off to collect and then be purified by the grasses. Mmm, gross, interesting…and pretty!
I apologize for the blog drought! I plead food poisoning + Weddingbee editor Mrs. Penguin coming to New York + hiring/training a new Weddingbee PRO team member (hi Eugy!) + generally being busy. But I’m back and I have lots to share!
The topic of job titles came to mind this morning out of the blue. When I first had business cards printed, I had to decide what title to give myself. CEO or President sounded too grand for little ol’ me. Founder was a little bit better. Finally I looked up what Nick Denton of Gawker Media called himself: Publisher.
It was perfect. From that day forward, I’ve used the title of Publisher because I publish blogs and media, and it’s more low key than CEO or President, which suits me just fine.
Most wedding vendors are founders, ceo’s and presidents of their own businesses. Do you have an official title?
So here are 2 new bouquets by me. This one is for the Frida table top but is also a trial run for a June bride that I will be doing the bouquets and boutonnieres for AND Erin Hearts Court will be shooting too AND I am doing the invitations and paper products for! Yay! I am excited! This is about as “One Stop” as I can get!
The bride ordered a bunch of super cool vintage ribbon for the bouquets so imagine red ribbon wrapped all the way around.

Everyone remember this gorgeous couple?! If not, click here to see their engagement session taken a few months back in Downtown LA.
Anne + Mark were married on August 29th, 2008. The ceremony took place at The Santa Clara Church in Oxnard and the beautiful reception was held at the Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo. I loved the details of this wedding, and to top it all off, Mark + Anne looked quite fabulous themselves!
Most people agree that Michelle Obama has amazing style (or an amazing stylist). She wears so many gorgeous accessories, including lots of different brooches and pins…
I am so loving this metallic pearl brooch with this jacket…

Several of you asked to see my pictures from my trip to Hawaii. I hope you enjoy these. There is something about Hawaii, and really travel in general, that can offer invaluable inspiration. Being in a new place, surrounded my new things and new people, its amazingly inspiring.
