Working with a Stylist

March 11th, 2009 @ 6:37 pm by Mrs. Bee @ Weddingbee PRO

Remember when I mentioned that I was working with a stylist to add some work appropriate clothes to my super casual wardrobe?  I’m working on a post about the entire experience, coming soon! :)  In the meantime, so many of you kindly commented on the outfit that I wore to the Modern Bride Project Bridesmaid event, that I thought I’d give you guys the details and tell you a bit more about the fabulous Amy who pulled it all together!

I’m pictured here with Randy Fenoli, fashion director of Kleinfeld.  We shared a car to the airport after Engage 08, and he was dressed impeccably at 7 o clock in the morning while I was dressed like my usual bummy self.  That’s something I’m trying to change of course! :)

I met Amy five years ago through a networking group called Ladies Who Launch, but that’s a post for another day, so here are the details on the outfit instead!  Amy bought this Maggy London dress, the black patent clutch, and the red and gold bangles from Loehman’s — the discount department store! The chunky gold and white bracelets are from Banana Republic (I’ve purchased a lot of jewelry from Banana — they actually have cute, affordable stuff!).  Amy is a genius when it comes to shopping on a budget and finding bargains!

I never would have thought to put this much jewelry together, but I think it totally works!  Because I work in a creative field, I can get away with outfits that are a little bit funkier. ;)  Amy has really helped me to think out of the box when it comes to clothes and jewelry.  And she is so darn sweet and hilarious, it’s always a blast hanging out with her.  If you’d like a little bit of Amy in your life, she creates these fabulous how to fashion videos — the how to wear a belt edition is great!

I’m so excited to apply what I’ve learned from Amy to my every day life.  Stay tuned for the next installment filled with tips, and lots of pictures!

My business partner and I are fellow LWLers too! Yes! I knew that energy anywhere! *high five* We’re from the LA and OC chapter. That would be great to meet up one day and share our stories of our “forward movement”. Loving your look by the way! Blue looks great on you.
