If you spend enough time with me, you will know that I have food obsessions. I consider myself a big foodie and love to eat, cook and talk about my favorite new restaurant. When I meet couples for the first time, I often ask them what their common interests are. Of course it is no surprise that many people not only love to eat, but also love to prepare food.
Though I don't often get a chance to put fruits or vegetables in my centerpieces, occasionally I meet couples who love the idea of incorporating a food element to their wedding decor because they are big food lovers. This is one wedding in which the bride loved the idea of using bright green Granny Smith apples. When you see the apples, you just want to smile. The accent of bright Granny Smith apples worked for this outdoor, daytime spring wedding in which the vibrant apple contrasted nicely with the assortment of hydrangeas, orchids, and roses.
For food lovers, adding produce is very meaningful and makes the design quite personable. Beyond apples, we've added purple eggplant to a centerpiece, raspberry brambles to a bouquet, and even kale to large arrangements. Lemons are one of my favorite fruits. Its shape is very unique and the color is fantastic. You can line a bar with lemons still on the vine. For cocktail tables, fill round wired baskets with pears or try filling apothecary jars with kumquats.
The possibilities are endless.
