About Emilie @ Emilie Inc. Photography

christi

Last June I received a sweet email from a designer who mentioned she follows my blog and wondered if I had any openings. I receive emails like this weekly it seems, but this one stuck with me for some reason. Not having given an in-house designer much thought before then, I wrote her back and asked her to come by the studio to chat.

The moment Christina walked into my studio she seemed familiar, as if I had known her for a long, long time. We hit it off, discovering we have several mutual friends including 2007 bride Alisa Young, and I loved her portfolio. Surprising myself, I suddenly realized I needed a designer and it had to be Christina.

Christina graduated from Gordon College with a BA in Fine Arts. She spent the next few years as a freelance graphic designer and worked as a manager at Papier Gourmet in Portland. Most recently she worked as a designer for Maine based stationery company William Arthur. During the two years she was there, Christina designed stationery and wedding albums for both Rita Renning and William Arthur and contributed to the production of Vera Wang fine papers. Christina lives in Portland with her husband Andrew and their adorable black lab, Olive. She enjoys yummy dinners, running (she’s responsible for me going to bootcamp last December!), taking Olive to the beach and spending time with her hubby.

Every task Christina has completed for emilie inc. has benefited from her warm, kind, thoughtful personality that initially drew me to her. I am SO happy and lucky to have her a part of our team.

Many of my brides have already had the fortunate opportunity to work with Christina on their album design. I can’t stress enough how important it is to follow the process through, and invest in a finished product of your beautiful wedding imagery to share with your children and your children’s children. Below are a few spreads of Christina’s recent designs. We’ve created a clean, simple style that showcases the images perfectly (the emilie inc circle is not printed on the album pages, fyi, it’s simply used as a watermark on the blog only).

I love the clean, elegant layouts of the album. It’s great you have such a wonderful team of people to help you.

One of the regrets with the photographer I used for my wedding was that he tried to do it all himself. The turnaround for everything (including emails) would take weeks and months longer than promised. I think it’s so important to have people you trust and enjoy working with on your team. =)
