I spent all day on my porch working on Suzi’s wedding flowers. I love a girl who isn’t afraid of color and I can’t wait to see her wedding photos to find out how all of the bright colors meshed with the ceremony and reception!

For her bridesmaids, she is doing something kind of different and cool by having them carry three big flowers in these bright primary colors.

I had played around with making BIG flowers before -Jackson Artworks, a gallery in downtown Omaha, carries many of my big flowers -but this is the first time I have made them for a bride. I’d really like to make a full bouquet with them.

I’m really into this crosshatch stitch lately too. I have a blanket embroidered for me by my great grandmother that has a lamb laying on a field of cross-hatched grass just like that. I draw a lot of inspiration from the work I have seen her do.

Congratulations again Suzi!

Those are so cute!! So do you do the cross stitching yourself? Totally impressed.
