This year has been running full speed ahead, and I realized several months ago that I would not make it to 2010 without hiring an employee.
I knew I was overworked, but I wasn’t seeing any easy options for hiring help. I didn’t want to employ someone out of state because that is a huge time and money sink, but I was wary of casting my line out in the Omaha job market because I didn’t want to hire a stranger who I didn’t trust. I started this business in 2005, and I feel like I am finally receiving some press and developing a reputation among my industry peers. I didn’t want to waste my time training someone who isn’t as passionate or motivated as I am, or was only here waiting for something better to come along.
Then Hollie Nicole e-mailed me.

Let me tell you a little bit about her.
Hollie and I met about five years ago and became fast friends. She was there when I first began hollering at (that’s “courting”) my husband Dave. She helped me throw an entire party for the sole purpose of possibly meeting him. And just for laughs I want to make a post about that someday because here is a picture of what we did the entire time…we clicked fast. We have always been friends, but life happened and we just grew out of touch over the last several years. It was when she emailed me and offered to help me out that we reconnected, and I realized she would be perfect for the job.
Hollie grew up in Nebraska, but she claims to be a Minnesotan at heart. She is the oldest of five kids, and she is a perpetual student, working on an English degree and thinking about switching to culinary arts.

On April 4, 2008, she got married to her husband Micah in a beautiful country church. Their reception was at a berry farm. There were so many cute little nuances that I hope she will write about in an upcoming post.

Here are some more of her most vital stats. Over time you will get to know Hollie Nicole and love her as much as I do.
likes: creating, learning, loving, living
loves: music, cooking, food blogs, traveling, geo caching, camping, long drives, adventures, bodies of water
dislikes: being too hot, touching raw meat, running, swimsuits sticking to my body, selfishness
pets: a girl cat named Norman
the best place ever: on the porch swing near a lake with a bottle of wine, some records, and a good book; Micah and Norman nearby, of course ![]()

Yay Hollie Nicole! Leave a comment and say hi. ![]()
