jerryyoon's Picture
Jerry Yoon, San Francisco Vendor: Photographer Website: Jerry Yoon Photography About Me: Gone are the days of being stuck with boring wedding photography, where everyone and everything looks like the same old photographer took it. We're not here to please your mom. We want to rock your socks off with imagery that explodes off the page and makes you feel all fuzzy inside. We're inspired by who you are and not what others think you should be. Playwright, architect, nuclear scientist, tax man, dance machine, burly construction man, blog stalker. We take them all. Can't wait to jump into the pool together and make something your kindergarten teacher would be proud of!
About jerryyoon

Some weddings you just walk away from really appreciating your family. When you're there and witness the gratefulness and love that is shown towards family, you can't help but think about your own. That's how I felt at Rob and Kelun's wedding.

Their wedding in Carmel was just as beautiful and meaningful as their love towards their family. Our favorite part was the band that they had, Huckleberry Flint. Oh and we love shooting in art museums. Something about the environment that I really like that I can't quite put my finger on. Hmmmm.

Courtney @ Flush Designs's Picture
Flush Designs, Pasadena Vendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, Photography Website: Flush Designs About Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
About Courtney @ Flush Designs

This lovely invite was designed for a wedding all based around “The Firebird” ballet. Old, colorful, fancy, and whimsical, this simple tri-fold invite is sealed with a feather and wax. I can't wait to see this wedding! The ever lovely Kristin of Treasured Petal is doing the flowers. Apparently, she will be using my invite as inspiration. I can't wait. The wedding is in July, and I still have the menus, table numbers, seating chart and programs to prepare! The wedding is being coordinated by the none other then Kelly from Demaray Events. She is the nicest girl around! This wedding is in good hands!

Amelia & Justin @ Amelia Lyon Photography's Picture
Amelia & Justin Lyon, Orange County Vendor: Photographer Website: Amelia Lyon Photography About Me: Hi, I am Amelia. I like to dance and sing my heart out in the car. My family has been in the wedding industry for 3 generations. Being the first photographer in the family, it has given me a unique perspective on how to keep things fresh and fun! Hello, I am Justin. I like to play Ping-Pong, and I too like to dance. Being a film and TV producer by trade, I am obsessed with finding the story that every image has to tell. Collectively we are wedding, portrait and music photographers. Now that we've started to tell you our story, why don't you let us capture yours?
About Amelia & Justin @ Amelia Lyon Photography

The first time I met Alicia was back in September of 2006. She was the videographer for one of my client's weddings and saw our work on a slideshow we put on display at the reception. She grabbed one of our cards and kept it ever since then. I always get so excited to hear about how our clients find us; this particular situation was flattering since Alicia had kept our card for so long until it was her time to shine with her fiancé Joey. We shot their engagement session at the Irvine Park, and I had Jason Roger there by my side to help me out. Introducing Alicia + Joey engaged!

Laura Nadeau @ Lo and Co's Picture
Laura Nadeau, New York City Vendor: Makep Artist Website: Lo and Co. About Me: Laura (Lo) loves all brides all of the time, and nothing makes her happier than making another woman feel great! Laura was born and raised in rural Alaska among huskies, grizzly bears and way too much flannel! With stars in her eyes, Lo moved to New York to pursue acting and realized how makeup could help to create a character and transform an actor. Laura began to see how she could use this skill to transform women in their everyday life and thus her new passion was born - helping women feel confident and beautiful through makeup.
About Laura Nadeau @ Lo and Co

Here are two questions that I recently received from readers:

Just a silly question -what should I wear to get ready in? Something I can unbutton or easily take off my head so I don't mess anything up? ~Paige

Sweetheart, there are no silly questions! You are right about a button up or something with a loose neck. Not really an issue for me, but for hair. If you have a festive or cute tank this is a great opportunity to wear it and you will look adorable in photos.

I have small wrinkles underneath my eyes; I guess I would say mild crow’s feet? I am paranoid about them showing in wedding pics, and I read in a magazine, to ask your makeup artist to not put powder over this area because it would bring out the wrinkles. Is this true? Any tips on how to de-emphasize that area? I'm thinking I might not have any choice in the matter. Thank you Lo! ~Victoria

Great question, Victoria. Everyone has wrinkles around or under their eyes, but it is important to brighten or lighten the under eye area. If you look really closely in the mirror you may notice the wrinkles more because of the concealer, but no one else sees this. If they are that close -tell them to back off! ;) It is well worth the tradeoff of lightning the area. This is what I suggest when applying concealer:

Emilie @ Emilie Inc. Photography's Picture
Emilie Sommer, Portland, Maine Vendor: Photographer Website: Emilie Inc. About Me: Emilie earned a degree in photojournalism from Syracuse University and worked at USA Today and The Washington Post in Washington, DC, before opening her wedding photography studio, emilie inc, in Portland, Maine. She loves all the intricate details involved in planning, the warm fuzzy feeling about two people in love and freezing those moments in time in a photograph. About Emilie @ Emilie Inc. Photography

To wrap up our wedding festivities, we had a party at the studio to celebrate with my family who couldn't attend our island nuptials and invited a few close friends, too! Musician Peter Miles entertained our guests, while cupcakes and other yummies from Two Fat Cats and champagne from the Old Port Wine Merchants filled our bellies. We were definitely feeling the love!

Amy Salinger's Picture
Amy Salinger, New York, NY Vendor: Stylist Website: Amy Salinger About Me: Fashion has always made me tick. Having lived in Boston, Chicago and New York City, I have learned from “real” people that style is what makes each individual look and feel fabulous. I personally teach that there is no such thing as having “nothing to wear”. My techniques are proven to save time and money by understanding what you own, knowing how to use it and how to develop it. Buy what you need. Use what you have.
About Amy Salinger

The greatest thing about wedding season is that it is not only yours that you have to contend with! From friends to family, doesn't it seem like everyone is getting married?! So, on top of putting together your big day, you have to make sure that you look fabulous as the perfect wedding guest too! The fun part of this equation is that most of the other guests are party hopping from wedding to wedding with you so wearing the same dress is just not an option. Alas, your closet simply grows and grows with an overflowing amount of cocktail dresses that seem to only have a home for one day.

Stop the madness!!! It is time to reuse those cocktail dresses that hang so sadly at the back of your closet. They want to come out and play, and I am here to show you how! No more guilt over having to buy yet another cocktail dress. Your regular daytime to evening activities attire is never going to have looked so good!

So, whip out those forgotten wedding cocktail dresses and get ready to style, style and style some more! It is all about owning the right pieces to mix it up. As my Sass N Style episode shows, choosing the right pieces to pair your dress with makes all the difference. Between the right bobbles, fantastic purse, perfect jacket and a fabulous pair of sandals, you are going to take that cocktail right out of the dress! That certainly does not mean I will take the cocktail out of your hand.

Follow along with my easy and chic tips for making every dress shine for a second or even third time!
