It’s taken me long enough to blog about this! I’m waiting on some pro pics, but here are a couple pictures from my little Canon point and shoot from the Modern Bride Trendsetter Awards dinner earlier this month.
Joel Dewberry recently launched his new Deer Valley collection, including these two gorgeous patterns.

Some weddings you just walk away from really appreciating your family. When you're there and witness the gratefulness and love that is shown towards family, you can't help but think about your own. That's how I felt at Rob and Kelun's wedding.
Their wedding in Carmel was just as beautiful and meaningful as their love towards their family. Our favorite part was the band that they had, Huckleberry Flint. Oh and we love shooting in art museums. Something about the environment that I really like that I can't quite put my finger on. Hmmmm.

This lovely invite was designed for a wedding all based around “The Firebird” ballet. Old, colorful, fancy, and whimsical, this simple tri-fold invite is sealed with a feather and wax. I can't wait to see this wedding! The ever lovely Kristin of Treasured Petal is doing the flowers. Apparently, she will be using my invite as inspiration.
I can't wait. The wedding is in July, and I still have the menus, table numbers, seating chart and programs to prepare! The wedding is being coordinated by the none other then Kelly from Demaray Events. She is the nicest girl around! This wedding is in good hands!

Hello everyone! I know it's been a while since I last posted a blog….it's getting tricky with the season upon us now. I wanted to show you what we've been working on this week for our fantastic client getting married at the Wequassett this Saturday. Here are some photos… we'll post more as we go along!

Chuppah preparations…. this is a big one!
The first time I met Alicia was back in September of 2006. She was the videographer for one of my client's weddings and saw our work on a slideshow we put on display at the reception. She grabbed one of our cards and kept it ever since then. I always get so excited to hear about how our clients find us; this particular situation was flattering since Alicia had kept our card for so long until it was her time to shine with her fiancé Joey. We shot their engagement session at the Irvine Park, and I had Jason Roger there by my side to help me out. Introducing Alicia + Joey engaged!

Here are two questions that I recently received from readers:
Just a silly question -what should I wear to get ready in? Something I can unbutton or easily take off my head so I don't mess anything up? ~Paige
Sweetheart, there are no silly questions! You are right about a button up or something with a loose neck. Not really an issue for me, but for hair. If you have a festive or cute tank this is a great opportunity to wear it and you will look adorable in photos.
I have small wrinkles underneath my eyes; I guess I would say mild crow’s feet? I am paranoid about them showing in wedding pics, and I read in a magazine, to ask your makeup artist to not put powder over this area because it would bring out the wrinkles. Is this true? Any tips on how to de-emphasize that area? I'm thinking I might not have any choice in the matter. Thank you Lo! ~Victoria
Great question, Victoria. Everyone has wrinkles around or under their eyes, but it is important to brighten or lighten the under eye area. If you look really closely in the mirror you may notice the wrinkles more because of the concealer, but no one else sees this. If they are that close -tell them to back off!
It is well worth the tradeoff of lightning the area. This is what I suggest when applying concealer:

Want a wedding that's as cute as a button? Have a small wedding - and add buttons! Vintage buttons can be used in everything from your stationery to your wedding bouquets.
Here are a few photos to get you smitten over buttons:

To wrap up our wedding festivities, we had a party at the studio to celebrate with my family who couldn't attend our island nuptials and invited a few close friends, too! Musician Peter Miles entertained our guests, while cupcakes and other yummies from Two Fat Cats and champagne from the Old Port Wine Merchants filled our bellies. We were definitely feeling the love!
The greatest thing about wedding season is that it is not only yours that you have to contend with! From friends to family, doesn't it seem like everyone is getting married?! So, on top of putting together your big day, you have to make sure that you look fabulous as the perfect wedding guest too! The fun part of this equation is that most of the other guests are party hopping from wedding to wedding with you so wearing the same dress is just not an option. Alas, your closet simply grows and grows with an overflowing amount of cocktail dresses that seem to only have a home for one day.
Stop the madness!!! It is time to reuse those cocktail dresses that hang so sadly at the back of your closet. They want to come out and play, and I am here to show you how! No more guilt over having to buy yet another cocktail dress. Your regular daytime to evening activities attire is never going to have looked so good!
So, whip out those forgotten wedding cocktail dresses and get ready to style, style and style some more! It is all about owning the right pieces to mix it up. As my Sass N Style episode shows, choosing the right pieces to pair your dress with makes all the difference. Between the right bobbles, fantastic purse, perfect jacket and a fabulous pair of sandals, you are going to take that cocktail right out of the dress! That certainly does not mean I will take the cocktail out of your hand. ![]()
