Flower Power

May 1st, 2009 @ 9:48 am by Llubav

I went to see the Macy's Flower Show a couple of weeks ago. I love their window displays! All the windows along 34th Street between Broadway and 7th Ave, had flowers made out of paper by an incredibly talented lady, Eloise Corr Danch (who is also a FIT grad). ;) This young lady made hundreds of flowers in different colors and shapes and gave each window its own uniqueness. I'm a sucker for all things handmade, and these flowers were truly beautiful. I can't imagine all the work that went into them.

The show was pretty neat. They had different gardens with flowers coming from all over — a Mexican garden, Hawaiian garden, Florida garden, etc. All of them were very pretty.

These flowers could also work as napkin holders or place cards (names could be written on the leaf and they can be clipped to a little tree branch or something). They would make such a lovely gift for your guests to take home and cherish forever.

The dress was made out of roses and carnations along with jewels and feathers.

The flamingos were so cool — they would make fun centerpieces.

SO COOL! I used to walk by Macy’s every day on my way to work, and loved seeing the window displays! Those paper flowers are incredible!
