My Wedding: The Book

May 6th, 2009 @ 9:54 am by Llubav

Having a wedding inspiration book was so helpful and visually fun for me. It did get a little heavy to carry around and take back and forth from the city to Virginia where we had our wedding, but I couldn't have done the wedding without it. I took notes and taped and glued all kinds of stuff and inspiration in it. I also used it to keep track of the gifts sent to us and for the thank you note checklist. It even worked as our guest book!

We got a beautiful guest book from Uncle Pat and Aunt Claudia and took it to Virginia, but it accidentally was left behind the day of the wedding. So, my close friend Lyn took my inspiration book and had everyone sign it. Later, I was told by friends and family how much they enjoyed flipping through the pages and seeing how our wedding came together — thank you Lyn!!

My husband got this accounting book from Staples.

My mother-in-law Barbara, who lives in Texas, sent me calligraphy samples. Notice some of the names? Funny

Cake decorations — ours ended up looking more like the one on the right, with a bride and groom candle my mother found. In case you are admiring the beautiful cake stands on the left, they are from F rances Palmer . She made them for her niece, who got married in Napa Valley, and at the reception each table had its own cake — love it!!

I love little vintage tin cans, but they were hard to find and sometimes pricey. We decided to go with tomato tin cans in all different sizes. They came from friends and our local pizza place.

For my dress, I really wanted something vintage-looking with ruffles but simple. I wasn't able to find it, but I knew a great seamstress that made it happen for me. Thank you Connie!!

I enjoy looking through my book. It reminds me of the wonderful time we had preparing for our big day. It's a special time that only comes once, so enjoy and embrace it.

Happy planning!! xoxo

Love sketchbooks! So much better than journals in my opinion!

I love how you perfectly marry beauty, whimsy and romance with organization and functionality. You strike a great balance.

such a cute little scrap book! I did do much of my research online, I think I would need to make a blurb book of planning or something to incorporate my blog and all the photos.
