About Mrs. Bee @ Weddingbee PRO

The Modern Bride Trendsetter Awards dinner is this coming Monday, and I need your help deciding what to wear! :)

The ever fabulous Amy Salinger came over today with dresses, shoes, purses and jewelry for me to try on.  The clothes and jewelry were all borrowed, and the clutches were either very inexpensive (under $40) or from Amy’s personal collection.

Dress for MB Event 002.jpg

Jewelry by Kara Ross.  I’m in love with all her stuff!

These are the pieces we ended up using for the contender outfits.

Dress for MB Event 004.jpg

Ok how crazypinchme cool is this – Jenna Fischer aka Pam from The Office wore this exact Gustavo Cadile dress to the Oscars this year!  It was fun to try on, but it was too long and maybe not right for this cocktail attire event.  (I’m throwing a Mexican themed barbecue this weekend, hence the sombreros and party supplies in the background.)

How funny is it that we have similar jewelry and poses?  Totally unplanned!

( Jenna Fischer image source)

Gustavo Cadile’s dresses were all so gorgeous.  Watch out for this rising star!

Ok here are the contenders!

Dress #1 - Gustavo Cadile dress w/ Kara Ross earrings, my J Crew pearl ring, my Nine West gold Accolia shoes, and Amy’s white clutch.

dress 1.jpg

Dress #2 - Gustavo Cadile dress and Kara Ross earrings styled the same as the dress above.

dress2.jpg

Dress #3 - Thuy dress w/ Kara Ross earrings, black clutch, and Betsey Johnson shoes from DSW

dress 3.jpg

I love all three dresses so I could really use your help!  The first two have a very similar, classic feel.  The second dress will probably photograph the most beautifully.  The third dress is a lot more fun/fresh/funky/edgy, and I don’t think it photographed as beautiful as it is in real life.  I wish I had taken a picture of the back of the third dress when I was wearing it, but it has a gorgeous open back if you can tell in the picture on the right.

I have thick skin, so please don’t spare the criticism!  Is it too much boob?  I swear they look bigger in the pictures than in real life because my head is cut off.  Which one do you love or hate?

Definitely either #1 or #2. Number 1 makes your waist look super tiny and I think it gives you the best shape. I also really like the flared skirt of #2. Also, I’m a big cleavage fan, so while it’s a lot of boob, it looks good. Number 3 looks too “young” for you and in the pics your body language seems like you don’t feel as comfortable in it. Hope that helps! You’re gonna look fab either way!

I first chose #2, then I really looked at number #1 again and I like it better on you. #1 Flatters your figure best. That green dress is hot!

I’m in the minority and love #3! I guess I just love minimalist and modern cuts. I also think you can really dress it up with the right accessories. A close second would be #1!

I love the texture of dress #1, and the neckline of dress #2 is really beautiful. Both would be gorgeous, but my vote is for dress #1. Love it!

Hahaha, I love that you are so straight-up! B/c I was for sure thinking, “Damn, that’s some boobage” with #1 + 2 — but not trashy, just, well, there :D I can see why you might go for 3 — but no, I don’t think it photographs well at all (at least, not like here). My personal fave is #1 cuz it looks so classy + elegant — a little bridal-reminiscent, but not bride-bride! But for sure, #2 is some glitz + glam+ clearly eye-catching. And I’ll straight up say: boobs are like an accessory in #1, but almost the focal point of #2. Hee, if that’s not too much detail :D But lucky you, and these are soo fab! (Darn if I don’t love those #3 shoes though, right? they’re like ZAM! hee)

Dress #1 is my favorite. I really like the top part of the dress and the shape looks good on you. As for dress #2, the rose detail and inner neckline put a lot of emphasis on your cleavage. Not necessarily a bad thing, but dress #1 seems more balanced out. Dress #3 is fun, but it’s just not as figure flattering as the other two.

I also love 1 and 2, but am not so wild about 3. Dress 1 is booby, but that’s not always a bad thing, and the dress is undeniably awesome. If you’re comfortable rocking 1, do it. If it were me, I’d probably feel a little more comfortable in 2, which is also beautiful.

I think I like #1. #3 looks a little too much like you’re going clubbing or something. ;) But you’re hott stuff in all the dresses, that’s for sure.

I think you look better in that first dress than Jenna Fischer did, so she’s lucky you aren’t wearing it!

As for what you should wear, #1 hands down! I’m not digging the double straps on #2, it just seems a little sloppy to me like you are wearing a bikini top under and #3 isn’t as flattering on your great figure.

What is Mr. Bee’s fav?

oof, i have to be honest and say i dont like any of them, but if i had to pick i would choose #2. #1 just looks like you have a bunch of feathers haphazardly placed on the top, and #3 just isn’t flattering at all.

I just tried on both dresses for Mr. Bee. The second dress is much more stunning in person, but it’s just a bad photo above because of the close-up flash. The first dress is actually more revealing on the sides. Both #1 and #2 are gorgeous dresses though!

1 or 3. 2 looks like you’re wearing a bikini underneath it and I’m really anti-rose detail. 1 has a lot of boob, more than I’m comfortable with, but if YOU’RE cool with it, you can definitely pull it off. 3 is the most fashion forward, but least classic cocktail dress.

I like the top in Dress 1. It’s romantic, seems to square out your shoulders and gives you a small looking waist. The skirt looks like something I’d wear to the office. It’s sexy and professional looking.
Dress 2 seems a little more casual, maybe because of the bakini top type under top. I think I’d try repositining the bakini top part to flow along the same lines as the outer top part. Just take a couple of small safty pins and pin the top of the triangle where the string is attached to its nearest position under the over top. Hide the tie string down each of the back straps with a couple more safty pins. I think that will give a better, read less beach casual, look to your bust area and again square out the look of your shoulders. If you don’t want to pin try some double stick dress tape like the stars do. I love the look for the spun ribbon. It remeinds me of the young lamb coats I love so much. Is it still cold there? Will it be cold? Maybe you could find one of those coats to borrow. :) You said cocktail event right. This dress feels more like a lunch dress by itslef.
Dress 3 feels like a clubbin dress to me. Doesn’t give you much shape, but looks comfy and frilly. Might be the black in the shoes and black cluch too givin me that vibe. Yer also showin some leg. YWO! haha

I really like #1 & 2 on you, you look HOT!!

I think that #1 is more sophisticated and classy than #2 though and I think you should rock that one! #2 draws too much attention to your boobies because of the layering of the fabric. IMHO.

P.S. Are you au naturale or do you have support for the ladies? I want mine to look like that!!

#1!! You look stunning in it! Although I like #2, I think #1 is more classy and slims your waist. In my opinion, it also seems to better fit the occasion- awards ceremony “glamorous” feel. Yet it also screams, “look at me, I’m hot!”. To help with the revealing sides, I would use dress tape.

Good luck with your final decision. I’m sure you will look great!! Congrats again, Mrs. Bee!

I think you should go with number 3! Its modern and classy. I think it is different and shows that you are a creative and youthful person. I love the shoes that go with that one too. It kinda ruffs it up and makes it look sexy. I hate number 2. The rose detail is really cheesy and I feel like your going to the homecoming dance in this one. I LOVE the green dress! I dont think it would be too fancy. If you put it with the right accesories you could make it look bohemian.

I like the Pam from the office dress the best. I know its not one of your options but I don’t think the other 3 dresses suit your skin tone at all. If I had to choose though out of the three it would be the first one, but maybe you should include a necklace or earrings (something close to the face) that has color other than gold or cream.

Mrs. Bee- I’m loving dress #1! It looks really fresh, glam and trendy but classy all at once. I feel like there’s just too much going on in dress #2, like it’s trying too hard or something. I like dress #3 a lot too, it’s got a bit more of an edge to it than dress #1, especially with the accessories you picked. So my preferences would be 1, then 3, then 2. #1 Definitely. Even though you say it is too long, it looked great on you. The other dresses are more casual and not as elegant. Also, do you really want to show THAT much cleavage at this event? Since is a modern bride trendsetter awards I choose a modern attire and defenitly it’s #3 it’s really modern, your shoes are trendy and your legs look amazing!!! I would choose a different clutch color and to make it a little bit formal wear the hair up

Can’t wait to see you!!! Good luck!!

A late weigh in on this:

Number One is so beautiful and screams wedding-ness!

Number Two is just oh so May and spring like!

My heart lies with Dress One!

Have a such a wonderful time!!!!

I cannot believe how many responses there are to this!!! I am glad all of you want her to look fabulous:) As the stylist, I do have to say that number 2 is absolutely stunning in person, it really is spectacular. I think number one was a strong contender from the start and I would be proud to have Bee wear it!

my vote: Dress #2 - Gustavo Cadile dress and Kara Ross earrings styled the same as the dress above.

i think you should accessorize it w/ the rose wirely cuff pictured above (the one btw the purple stones and the pink cuff)

#1 is too top heavy and too busy. i get an unbalanced feeling looking at it, like you would topple over w/ all that chunky flowery/ruffly mess.

i don’t like how the awkward hem of #3 makes your thigh look muscular. workmanship here isn’t definitely not as impressive as #2.

My question is completely off your post. Do you have a definition of “day-of” coordination? What is the basic scope of services. When the services starts and ends. I know each coordinator have different services but if you have anything that will information of a typical a day of planner. Any information is much appreciated.

Thank you
