Jessie Blum @ Eclectic Unions's Picture
Jessie Blum, New Jersey Vendor: Officiant Website: Eclectic Unions About Me: I began writing & officiating wedding ceremonies in 2008, and love every single moment of it. It all started when my best friend asked me to officiate her Jewish/Lutheran/Pagan (but completely non-religious!) wedding - since then, I've found a love and passion for creating original wedding ceremonies that truly reflect the couples being married. Wedding ceremonies should be all about the bride & groom's love, relationship, and commitment, and I do my best to make sure everything is just perfect! I live in Northern New Jersey with my fiance and our two kitties, and, when I'm not meeting with my awesome couples or writing wedding ceremonies, I love to knit, obsessively check my email, and plan my own wedding (Oct 2010!).
About Jessie Blum @ Eclectic Unions

I love wedding invitations. Mostly, I love stationery, paper and cards of any kind and I also love weddings – therefore, I have to love wedding invitations. ;)

I got a really lovely wedding invitation from a couple who had their wedding in early April. They had a book and literature theme, and really took it to heart with the invitations. The groom, Gordon Bond of BluzDog Graphics, designed these!

It’s a card – here’s the front:

And the inside, looks just like a book, with a little bookplate featuring the couple and their cat, along with a library card pocket with the actual wedding information! On the back are directions to the venue.

The couple had mentioned they found the book cover and thought it was just perfect for the invitations. (The people on the book looked like them too!) So, they scanned the cover and added in the kitty (if I’m not mistaken). I love how fun, offbeat and interactive this invitation is. Also, I love how it especially reflects the couple and their theme. This is just about my favorite wedding thing ever!

These are fantastic! I love, love, love this idea — too bad me and FI are not the biggest literature people!

Oh, I just wanted to add that I got an email from Gordon yesterday saying that he got such an overwhelming response, that he is now custom making wedding invites! You can check out his website over here –> http://bluzdoggraphics.com/GB_Design_Home.html
