It’s taken me long enough to blog about this! I’m waiting on some pro pics, but here are a couple pictures from my little Canon point and shoot from the Modern Bride Trendsetter Awards dinner earlier this month.
It was a cold evening! Thank goodness I had a lovely coat that I borrowed from Amy. Here I am pictured with fellow trendsetter and hair accessory genius, Jennifer Behr.
Trendsetter Robert Kalt out of East Brunswick New Jersey. He takes food, flowers, bridesmaid dresses — anything leftover from events like weddings — that he then donates to shelters, hospitals and charities. How wonderful!
Seattle based couture caterer Lisa Dupar and of course a 2009 Trendsetter!
This was the only full shot I had of me in my Gustavo Cadile dress and Kara Ross earrings!
My hair and makeup by Ai Sakai that I loved so much.

Some of the evening’s celebrity presenters included Rachel Hunter and Christian Siriano…
Kristin Davis and Holly Robinson…
And Bethanny Frankel who was sitting at my table! She gave me the scoop on the Real Housewives of New York — they’re all crazy!
One lucky guest won a diamond necklace… it ended up being previous trendsetter and cake baker extraordinaire Sylvia Weinstock. Sylvia always has the perfect and funniest things to say.
Susie Essman of Curb Your Enthusiasm did a hilarious comedy set! You can see the heavy awards we each received in the bottom righthand corner.
Here I am with past trendsetter, floral designer Michelle Rago (who I’ll be speaking with at Engage 09!).
Former trendsetters: the charismatic Ron Ben-Israel, and photographer Terry Gruber (who has been the only photographer to be named a trendsetter to date!).
The fabulously gorgeous past trendsetter and videographer Kristen of Bliss Video Productions.
Mara Urschel and 2009 Trendsetter of the legendary Kleinfeld Bridal.
Tara Guerard author of Southern Weddings (who was sitting next to me and I was excited to finally meet), and Lisa Dupar.
And finally Antonia Van der Meer, Editor in Chief of Modern Bride Magazine.
I forgot to take a picture with Preston Bailey, who graciously presented my award, but I felt so honored to have him (the most famous person in the wedding industry in my opinion ;) ) present my award.
There are no real awards or honors in the wedding industry, so a huge thank you to Modern Bride for hosting this fabulous event each year. Several past winners I spoke to told me that winning the award represented a turning point in their business — now that’s power!
I’ll share more pictures as I get them. For now… have a super fantastic weekend everyone! ![]()
