Sarah Parrott, Rhode Island Vendor: Invitation Designer Website: Parrott Design Studio About Me: I am the designer & printer behind Parrott Design Studio, specializing in custom letterpress and screen printed wedding and event invitations, stationery, and paper goods. With a background in non-profit marketing & art history, I began the studio in 2006 in my small apartment in Providence, RI. Since then I have moved to a studio built my fiancé, acquired a Golding Jobber letterpress, & have been happily printing ever since. I grew up in Portland, Maine, and I have always had an affinity for the ocean, mountains, birds, gardening, & the simple life. When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fiancé & playful pup.

It’s No Wonder

MS wedding photo shoot

I love this behind-the-scenes glimpse of shooting a MSWedding. It’s no wonder the photographs of the invitations are so impeccable. They take a lot of work…and equipment! I have stood on a lot of furniture in my house in many random places trying to find the best natural light for photographing my stationery and invitations. I have a tripod, which has proved immensely helpful, but goodness look at that tripod! I need me one of those! Along with a stylist, crew, and pretty barn in the background.

Here is a recent farm inspired stationery suite:

This wedding was inspired by the location of the wedding, a 200+ acre working farm in a valley of Pennsylvania. The invitations reflect the landscape of the farm - rolling hills dotted with trees. The design was simple and fresh. The greens are bright and contrast nicely with the deep purple of the scripted text {a new favorite font that I try to sneak in wherever I can!}.

Wow, that MS shot is nuts! These invites are really pretty, too, I love the trees.

Ha! Seeing all the work that goes into an MS picture makes me feel a little better when my shots come out soooo far from professional!

That’s pretty incredible. Now I don’t feel so bad for having less than stellar photos of my projects!

Ha, I always wondered what their set-up was like. Thanks for sharing.
