Sarah Parrott, Rhode Island Vendor: Invitation Designer Website: Parrott Design Studio About Me: I am the designer & printer behind Parrott Design Studio, specializing in custom letterpress and screen printed wedding and event invitations, stationery, and paper goods. With a background in non-profit marketing & art history, I began the studio in 2006 in my small apartment in Providence, RI. Since then I have moved to a studio built my fiancé, acquired a Golding Jobber letterpress, & have been happily printing ever since. I grew up in Portland, Maine, and I have always had an affinity for the ocean, mountains, birds, gardening, & the simple life. When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fiancé & playful pup.
About Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

My tandem bicycle stationery is a popular item both in my shop and at shows. Every so often I receive an inquiry about using the image on a wedding invitation. A few made it to the draft stage only to be overruled by a flower. But the lovely couple I worked with for these invitations wanted nothing less than the tandem bicycle on both the invitation and rsvp. Yay!

I added a bit of retro flair with the swoops and swirls on the top of the invitation and on the back of the rsvp postcard. It reminds me of party streamers -really fancy ones. The couple lives in Ireland and is getting married there. Oh! Can you picture it now - riding through the green countryside with your love on your very own shiny blue tandem bicycle? ::sigh::

I love the tandem bike!
I SOOO want one at our wedding :)
and for our friends to sing..
… it won’t be a stylish marriage, I can’t afford a carriage.. but you’ll look sweet, up on the seat of a bicycle built for two :)

I’m also getting married in October 2010, and have designed all of my stationary, menus, and signs myself, and I’ve been searching high and low for a graphic of a tandem bicycle to use. Could you share where you found it? Thank a million!!!
Krystal

P.S. Beautiful work by the way! I’m a professional photographer and I truly apprecitate the art of making invites!
