About Melody @ Sweet and Saucy Shop

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I want to share a bunch of photos with you all. We'll first start off with photos of the three wedding cakes I did this weekend. Two of the three cakes were actually chosen from designs that I had already done, with a little tweaking of the colors. I will be doing a tutorial on how to do the first cake shortly!

This last week we actually had a lot of progress with the store and it was so exciting to see things coming along! The flooring and painting got finished and the main signs were put up! I even was able to get some furniture pieces into my office! I took lots of pictures along the way so I could share them with you…thanks for checking them out!

Most of the store was painted in white to keep it light and airy, but for my office I wanted to go with the color scheme of white, grey, and yellow! I found the most adorable table and chair set at Anthropologie for around 50%…woo hoo! I am obsessed with it! The chair cushions are getting a new fabric on them, which with make it look even more cute!

Here is a sneak peak of some of the goodies I bought for the store!

I also couldn't resist bringing along the cutest models ever to show off my new stuff. Please welcome my gorgeous nieces…Kimberly, Melody, & Brianna!

Everything looks beautiful! I have been wondering if I could put a 3-tier wedding cake on a cake stand - I love the one you did! Any suggestions/recommendations/advice you may have on doing this? Thanks!

You can either stack it on the cake stand or carefully try to slide the cake onto it…either way it is always a little nerve racking!

Ooo, I love the little table and chairs set — it reminds me of spun sugar! :-)

I’m a little concerned about the weight of the cake…has this ever been an issue?

Callie- Not for me so far…as long as the stands are sturdy and you center the cake it should be fine.
Redbullfanatic - hope to see you there once it is open!
Miss Bruschetta - thanks so much!

The cakes look wonderful, and I especially love the design of the first one. The shop looks like it’s coming along quite nicely. Cannot wait to see it when it’s finished!

What a fun time for you and it is looking good. That large white cake is amazing, it has a certain glow about it. Love you contemporary cake designs.

How did you get the lines so straight for the swiss dot. I would love a tutorial on that one.
