I am really excited about how these invitations came out. They were a real collaborative effort between myself, the bride, groom, and even Rich! The bride and groom came to me with a very clear idea of what they wanted. They gave me a brochure for New Bedford, Massachusetts {where the wedding is going to be} which included a vintage street map of the town. They wanted a vintage and nautical feel to their invitations to set the tone of the day. I love the use of the banner and scroll in this design. The registration was super tight between the deep red banner and deep orange map on the top of the invitation, but it came out spectacularly {with much credit to my PG-11}.

I have been buying gocco supplies like nobody’s business the past few weeks, as I have quite a few weddings lined up, but I am happy to say I am starting the transition to custom letterpress printing. I just completed a set of letterpress save the dates last week, and I have more letterpress orders lined up this year. But, I also have some plans involving traditional screen printing in the works as well. Part of what I love so much about custom design is the ability to print those designs once they are finalized. I still want to offer hand printed invitations, but understand letterpress is not in everyone’s budget. Screen printing still offers hand made invitations, but at a lower cost.
Oh, Monday. You are almost done…

Love how these have a such a colonial feel — the orange reminds me of faded old parchment paper!
