Walking along Broadway in NYC Thursday afternoon, I was immediately drawn to a window display. At first, I thought “gorgeous glass sculpture”, but then looked closer. I was actually staring at water bottles filled with colored water - genius!
My thoughts immediately went to how I could use the thrifty decor detail for my vow renewal. So here is what I’m thinking: Vintage soda crates filled with these overturned bottles (I imagine the fit won’t be perfect, so stuff a bloom or two in the unused space) and voila, you have and super cute, colorful seating card display!
Sketching always helps me visualize an idea…
I would love to hear your ideas for other ways these botteles could be used!

I love the use of “recycled” material on wedding! I have a bottom bottle project as well!!
Thanks everyone for reading! Here is my quick tip for coloring the water - use a Crayola watercolor set (really affordable and can be found anywher, plus you can custom mix your colors).
You could also use a drop or two of a sports drink like powerade or gatorage, you could saturate it with more liquid or dilute it with a bit less.
Love the idea for sure - its a great way to recycle and add some fun color.
You could also try to do different height and shaped bottles - some round, others square to give it a really fun sense of depth!
