Sarah Parrott, Rhode Island Vendor: Invitation Designer Website: Parrott Design Studio About Me: I am the designer & printer behind Parrott Design Studio, specializing in custom letterpress and screen printed wedding and event invitations, stationery, and paper goods. With a background in non-profit marketing & art history, I began the studio in 2006 in my small apartment in Providence, RI. Since then I have moved to a studio built my fiancé, acquired a Golding Jobber letterpress, & have been happily printing ever since. I grew up in Portland, Maine, and I have always had an affinity for the ocean, mountains, birds, gardening, & the simple life. When I am not printing, I can be found somewhere outside with my fiancé & playful pup.
About Sarah @ Parrott Design Studio

Well the ever-lovely peony is packing its bag, going to the Caribbean!  Ali, the bride, initially wanted me to design a magnet as their save the date, but as we worked more on the design, and the fact that it is a destination wedding, we quickly realized this was turning into much more. Enter the folded card {for a second time this week!}.  Inspired by the florals I have used in previous designs, Ali knew she loved the peony, and her wedding colors are pink and brown.  Perfect!

The peony graces the front of the card along with some simple text and elegant swirls.  The inside is a bit text heavy, but there is a lot of planning and information to share when a destination wedding is involved!  To break-up the reading, Ali and David chose a fun photo of themselves on the beach for their magnet which included their wedding date and website, adding just the right touch of whimsy to the save the date!  The save the date was gocco screenprinted on 100% lettra paper with bright pink & warm chocolate inks.  Look for their coordinating wedding invitation suite to come in the next few months!  Those will be letterpress.  I cannot wait!

Love the idea of using gocco, and then making coordinating invitation pieces with letterpress!
