Snap station 1

Another shout-out today to our talented intern Hillary Burgess for her DIY snap station, featured this week on Bride's Cafe! (Hillary won their DIY contest a few weeks back - what a star!)

DIY snap station

The basic idea: collect some vintage cameras, and give them to guests to play with!

Snap station 3

Accompanied by some cute signage, of course!

Congratulations, Hillary, and kudos to Jess Epstein for the fab photos!

This is a fantastic idea! I really want to use this, but am wondering: some of those cameras look manual; would you leave a light meter on the table for people to figure out the exposure?

So the guests will have a designated person or thing to take pictures at? Or anyone can take pictures of everybody?

I’m guessing they’re probably left in the automatic mode so the guests don’t struggle with them too much. Neat idea!

Yeah, I’m intrigued as well. If even half my guests knew how to use a light meter I’d be shocked! Personally I would adore this, but you would need some photography background for it to really work.

Ooops, I didn’t read the link before posting. They hired a photography student.

Thanks for the feedback guys! The sign next to the manual nikon (which I should have noted more clearly in the DIY) says Manual Nikon- “for the more adventurous!” This was just an idea for any guests that happened to have more experience with cameras:)…or think that they do!

The other cameras are quite user friendly but it would be helpful to have someone man the booth to answer questions and load film.

cheers!
