With 2009 winding down, we’ve had the opportunity to print a lot of really fun letterpress save the dates for 2010 weddings in recent weeks. From the simple to the extravagant, couples are always coming up with unique ideas that make our jobs designing and printing thoroughly enjoyable. Of particular note, we’re seeing a lot of great color combinations for 2010 weddings that have completely inspired. Check out some of our recent favorites:
Based on our Marjorca design, this fun letterpress save the date is actually two cards that we drilled and attached with a grommet. It was printed in garden green paired with a subtle cream ink, which creates a sophisticated tone-on-tone effect.
In bright mustard and green inks, this version of our Mimosa design was truly personalized for this couple’s June 2010 wedding. I love the colors they paired together.
Among my personal favorites, this save the date is a really unique interpretation of our Champagne design. I love the fresh green and rich purple color combination and the clean modern appeal of the sans serif type.
Printed for a wedding in Napa Valley, this save the date is our Tuileries design in really bright and cheerful in orange and peach inks. We don’t print a lot of orange, so this was a particularly unique customization that was a lot of fun to print.
While this one was actually printed for a wedding this past summer, I couldn’t help but share it - I’m in love with this modern play on traditional calligraphy in our New Calligraphy save the date. I love the rich black against the white paper and think it would be equally appropriate for a traditional black tie affair or a thoroughly modern event.
Summer 2010 brides, are you planning your save the dates? What colors are inspiring you?
