Meet Megan and Peter. They both work in the movie biz in Hollywood, she as a creative director and he as a screenwriter. They met years ago through a mutual friend and decided to bring their family friends to the sleepy surf town of Sayulita, just north of Puerto Vallarta where they took their first vacation as a couple to make their union official. And they brought us, too!! They were originally planning a May wedding, but postponed until October because of the swine flu outbreak in the spring.
We attended their rehearsal dinner in town. Nothing beats authentic Mexican and yummy margaritas to set the tone for celebrating.
Megan and Pete wed in a small garden, appropriately named The Kissing Garden, surrounded by swaying Palm trees.
A mariachi band welcomed Megan up the aisle with her mom.
Night fell quickly as guests moved from the ceremony to the dinner site, a beautifully illuminated terrace.
There were touching toasts…
and plenty of tequila!
With full bellies, guests moved to a transformed basketball court for dancing.
Congratulations, Megan and Peter! You two waited a l-o-n-g time for your big day and created a beautiful event for us to photograph. We loved catching up with your family and friends again (Megan is the sister of our Jamaica bride from 2008, seen here on my website), Megan, and loved meeting your clan, Pete. Thanks for welcoming us with open arms and introducing us to the fantastic town of Sayulita. We may have to return- the mellow pace and fish tacos are already tempting us back! Hugs!
