Demese + Robert were uber-fabulous to work with. We shot their portrait session in San Francisco a few weeks ago at the Palace of Fine Arts. We fell in love with this location the last time we were in San Francisco, and had to take advantage of it one more time. The best part of this sitting (alongside Demese + Robert of course!) was all of the natural light that created awesome sun-glare and sweet shadows for us to play around with.

Lara + Tim’s wedding was glamorous with an English nautical twist! Okay… I admit it, I’m trying too hard to describe their awesome wedding day because the usual “awesome” just doesn’t do it justice! Lara + Tim’s wedding perfectly followed the feel of their engagement session with a by-the-sea-sailing theme. This was just right for them because Lara + Tim both have a passion for the ocean and sailing. They were married on August 22nd at the Trinity Baptist Church in Santa Monica (recognize this church, Father of the Bride was shot at this same church!) and had a sweet reception that followed at The California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey.
Alicia + Joey: full of life, character, and color! I already expected their wedding to be just this after the few hours we spent with them while shooting their engagement session. August 21st was an awesome day for a wedding, and it just so happened that it was the only day in the middle of the summer that it rained in San Diego. The old saying of “rain means good luck on your wedding day” must be true because Alicia + Joey are two of a kind!
You saw their engagement session , now experience the wedding of Danah + Ahmad. The lovely couple was married on August 15th at The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel . If we had only two words to describe this wedding, it would be "simply classic". With white as their only wedding color, Danah’s simple white dress, and Ahmad’s classic black suit, it was truly a breath of fresh air. Danah’s dress will definitely go down as one of the top ten wedding dresses we’ve ever laid eyes on, and Ahmad’s black suit was bold and timeless!
Whew! Has it really been a week since we blogged last?! We’ve got to step up our game and we intend to BRING IT, especially since we’ve been shooting like mad! Let us start things off with this handsome couple named Danah + Ahmad. So glad that they hired us to capture their engagement session and wedding day. We shot their engagement session literally three days before they tied the knot, so stay tuned because their wedding is next on the list. Danah + Ahmad make a sweet couple and when I say sweet, I really mean it, our experience with them has been nothing but that! So excited to feature them here on the blog:
We arrived to shoot Wendy + Sunup’s engagement photos, and the first thing I noticed were the huge bouquet of sunflowers Wendy was holding in her hands. I was super excited that they had thought to bring a fun colorful prop to add to our shoot! My favorite thing about this set of images (besides Wendy + Sunup of course!) is the color. I’ve always told my clients that I love working with color and prefer this over tans, blacks, or most of all browns (fact: I don’t own a single brown item in my wardrobe). We shot this engagement session in Costa Mesa and had a blast! We’re definitely looking forward to the wedding coming up soon in October!

Kaitlyn + Jordan were married on August 14 in San Diego. I simply adored this wedding, not just because Kaitlyn happens to be my sweet cousin, but because every little detail was thought up and executed directly with their wedding theme of “beside the seaside” with a vintage twist. I thought that the theme and the day played out super well and I’ve never witnessed an idea that flowed more perfectly. You may recognize Kaitlyn + Jordan from the engagement session we shot a few months back in Laguna Beach.
Congrats to Kaitlyn + Jordan for an amazing wedding day and an additional kudos to Heather Balliet (and her hard working team) of Amorology Weddings for throwing the whole chibang together so beautifully!
I immediately was drawn to PJ + Yea because of their endearing personalities, both so fun to be around and so real! We shot their engagement session in Downtown LA. I arrived and thought to myself, “hmmmm, I’ve seen this before!”, but didn’t know from what. Then it came to me! We were just around the corner from where The Aquabats Fashion Zombies music video was filmed (Justin produced this a few years back). This was also the same location where the fight scene from Anchorman was shot! Yea actually works in the film industry and has access to all of the hot film locations. I was excited to have a super sweet couple to work with, and even more excited with the awesome location choice, nice job PJ + Yea!
Maria + Alvin were married on August 1. We had such a fun weekend at their wedding in San Francisco. Not only was it an awesome wedding, but Justin and I were celebrating our 7 year anniversary the very next day! Maria + Alvin’s wedding was a perfect excuse to get away to one of our favorite cities, be a part of a wedding, and remember how important marriage is!
Since we were out of town for so long, we tried our best to keep up with everything, but with all of the crazy events over the past month, our blogging habits have slowed down and I am DETERMINED to get back to blogging twice a week again. So here’s a second entry for the week, and maybe if you’re all lucky 
we’ll get a third post up before the week is over!
Introducing Molly + John! We shot their engagement session in Long Beach near the Aquarium. I’ve been excited about posting this session because it really displays a wide array of natural lit images (minus my favorite shot of the day shot with off camera flash). Plus, these photos show Molly + John’s personality so well; they were and are great together, especially for our camera!
