When searching for a location to photograph Patricia + Art for their engagement session, Justin reminded me of the awesome colors we had seen a few weeks prior in Downtown Silver Lake. We decided to go there and we seriously had so much color to work with…I loved it! It was also helpful that Patricia + Art were great subjects to have in front of our camera, super photogenic and ultra fun to work with!

In honor of March Madness starting I’ve decided to make my own spin-off of the season and post some of our Moustache photos from the past month…Happy March Moustache Madness everyone!
Justin and I had a great afternoon with Mary + Peter at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. We ended up scheduling and shooting the session on Valentine’s Day, it was a fun way to celebrate the holiday of love…I know it sounds a little cheesy, but its true!
We had shot at this location before so after a while we decided to venture out into the local downtown area to find some unique backdrops to work with. Needless to say, we were very glad that we did, here are some of our favorite shots from their engagement sitting:
When Justin and I were first married we lived in Pasadena. One of our favorite things about Pasadena was all of the amazing architecture. We had an engagement session scheduled with the lovely Irma and the uber talented Patrick this las Saturday in Pasadena and we remembered this one specific location we always thought would be super cool to use for a photo-shoot, so we decided to go there. I was super happy with the way that all of the images turned out and our AWESOME couple was nothing short of FABULOUS!!!
Just to give a quick background on how we know Patrick and Irma, Justin has become good friends with Patrick through a mutual friend, as he has helped Patrick on a few high-end clothing companies. Patrick is a crazy talented clothing designer, Justin even dropped his name on the Bludomain Interview we did a few weeks ago, when asked what kind of jeans he wears, Justin wrote, “A custom pair of Patrick Winget’s” (they really are my husband’s favorite jeans to wear!). When Patrick became engaged to the sweet Irma they hit us up to hire us for their wedding photography and I was stoked not only to work with these two rad individuals, but to have the opportunity to shoot a wedding that is sure to be fun and unique in design and attire! P.S. Every outfit that Irma is wearing in this engagement session her mother hand made, so together Irma and Patrick have a double fashion background!
Last summer we had a super-fun time capturing Stephanie and Tom at the Orange County Fair. When Stephanie and Tom had mentioned that they wanted to do their engagement photos there, we were initially hesitant because the fair tends to be a crazy-busy place and shooting there would be kind of tricky, BUT we were up for the challenge and ended up with some awesomely colorful images!
Nat & John were hitched on May 31st, 2008. The big event took place in the city of Fallbrook at the craziest little hidden paradise (one would have never thought it even existed in Fallbrook) called The Grand Tradition. Nat and John have probably been one of the most easygoing couples we have ever worked with. They seem to have a such a light-hearted outlook on things. The wedding day was really a great reflection of them, and of course, they both looked handsome dressed up in wedding attire!
Many of our readers may know that back in August of 2008 we were nominated and awarded Bludomain’s photographers of the year 2008-2009. Ever since then it has been fun to be a part of some of their shin-digs and especially awesome being featured among many other very talented photographers in our industry (some we like to call our friends). We feel super honored to have received the award and we’re even more stoked that they used a ton of our photos to dress up their new site and blog!

Austin + Jean were married on February 7th at the Occidental College in Los Angeles. This was an interesting day as it was a 100% forecast to rain the ENTIRE day. Not only were we praying for a break from the bad weather, but we heard that Austin’s grandmother praying hard as well! Upon arriving to the Langham Hotel in Sierra Madre for prep photos the clouds parted and the sun shined on through…the day could not have been more gorgeous! See, prayers do get answered! Oddly and lucky enough, we had no rain until, literally, the minute the reception started and then it came down like cats and dogs!!!
While Justin attended to the men getting ready I found Jean waiting in her room and all beautified, thanks to talented make-up artist and hair-dresser extraordinaire Nicole DeAnne.
Buddy and Tina were married on May 24th, 2008. I knew this wedding was going to be a fun one after spending some time with the couple during their sweet engagement session in Manhattan Beach!
Since Buddy and Tina both lived in Spain for a time and have a common passion for that country, I could definitely see some Spanish influences in their decor and dress.
I went back to my old stomping grounds in Manhattan Beach to shoot an engagement session with the lovely Tina and Buddy. I say “my old stomping grounds” because this was where I use to work as a nanny and would walk the main beach there all of the time (before I even considered photography as a career). I loved going back there, pleasant memories and the weather was amazing for a portrait session!
Buddy and Tina live just a few blocks from the Manhattan Beach Pier and I was so glad that they chose to have their engagement session there so I could have an excuse to visit one of my favorite beaches in Southern California.
