Flush Designs, Pasadena Vendor: Invitations, Event & Floral Design, Photography Website: Flush Designs About Me: Flush Designs is run and owned by me, Courtney C. Keefe de Jauregui. It is all encompassing, from the custom & handmade invitations seen at my website, to full exploration in event styling and design, to flower arranging, to playing sidekick and second shooter to my husband's wedding photography. I am working on becoming a wedding "One stop shop". :) I am a graduate in fine art painting, but a self taught graphic designer. As I still needed to get my hands dirty, I started taking letterpress classes, thus becoming my new love. When I am not busy working (usually still in my pajamas) and telling myself to remember to buy a new chair (this one hurts), I am singing to my 3 cats and enjoying a cold pint with my husband at our favorite local Irish pub. Maybe it's in the reverse order. :)
About Courtney @ Flush Designs

Remember this save the date? Well, the invitation just went out, wine stains and all. This is a mixed media piece, the wine stain is digitally printed by me and then letterpress printed by Spark. I love the simplicity of the border but it is spiced up with the wine stain and some more silly wording on the reception card and the rsvp….

About Courtney @ Flush Designs
Remember this for this wedding? Well here are a close up of the invites I never showcased. This is also the wedding I did the bouquets and bouts for and we shot! This was a collaboration of talents for this invite. Right after I was done printing the envelopes, and had printed the first color for the invites, the press had a moment of retirement. As it is a 100+ year old press, this can happen at unexpected moments. So, thank goodness for my friend and master printer at Paper Mum Press. She swooped in and finished the job on her press. Although she uses a different press, we had to reorder all the plates and new paper to start over but it worked great. She is super fast with turnaround time, and as she is a printer, more then a designer (her words not mine) she will happily print any designs.
The RSVPs are digitally printed by me and with the bride's help we sewed the invites, and she did the envelope liners herself with a template I made. It was a fun collaboration of talents to get this baby out in the mail!

About Courtney @ Flush Designs

This by far, is my most popular invitation suite. If not this one, then a variation of it. This one in particular has a two color letterpress invite, tear off RSVP post card, a tea ceremony invite insert, thank you cards and digital printed directions card. A little twine, a little wax and it's done. I love the ecru paper so rich and creamy.

About Courtney @ Flush Designs

The wedding day was a crazy day, but we got it done. Whew! And were we tired. We did the flowers for a wedding at the Biltmore hotel in Los Angeles with 250 guests. We were able to take a few pics but not as many as I would have liked. Hopefully, the bride's photographer took some more for me.

Break down of flowers totaling over 1500 stems of flowers and greens:

  • 24 centerpieces
  • 5 bar and cocktail tables
  • head table 12 multi vintage vases
  • 250 tied ribbon napkins
  • 250 tied photos with rosemary with a flickr account info on back
  • 1 ceremony arch (moved from ceremony to the reception for viewing)
  • loads and loads of candles in mercury glass votives and vintage looking lotus votives
  • 37 spray painted wooden numbers with glitter
  • 3 bouquets
  • 10 boutonnières
  • 3 flower girls- decorated votives to carry in the candle lit ceremony (which I missed so sadly as I was finishing up the reception. Hopefully the photog capture the little votives as they were tooooo cute.)
  • 200 yards of vintage lace
  • 1 studio rental for prep
  • 1 rental van +2 trips
  • a really small service elevator (learned my lesson there)
  • 2 fabulous assistants for day of and 2 more on prep days (could have used 3 more the day of!!)
  • No food for 12 hours (CPK tasted soooo goood)
  • a lot of praying that the hot weather and boiler room area for the delivery didn't kill everything (poor, poor hydrangeas were hating us)
  • a sneak trip into the bridal suite to decorate the bed with a heart shape made of petals… hehe ;))
  • and 1really, really happy couple!

Now, time for a good 2 month nap.

Here are a few pics during the getting ready and the day of. And for you Bee's this is the wedding of Mrs. Glitter. Don't want to give too much away, as she will surely share. Her dress (omg) was absolutely stunning…wow!!! She looked amazing to no end!

About Courtney @ Flush Designs

Here is the most awesome wedding of Brett and Bowen that, we, Erin Hearts Court, just photographed. This would be my first, “multi” wedding. I worked on the invitations, bouquets and bouts, photography, and also some fun suggestions here and there. We have all become great friends -which makes all of it even more fun!! They actually thanked us in their speech at the wedding! We felt absolutely honored.

The wedding took place at the campus of Pomona College, where they met and fell and love. Even though it rained and the plan “B” indoor option had to take place everything was still so wonderful, and it made for some wonderful soft lighting and gorgeous clouds for the outside portraits and the walk to the ceremony. Not to mention the party was still amazingly fun. When we were done shooting we stayed and danced to a few tunes!

Here are my favs from the day:

About Courtney @ Flush Designs

Yeah!! Finally, my table top is on Once Wed. Emily was waiting to showcase it on her new and improved blog so I have been dying with anticipation for the last 4 months waiting for the post. I began to almost think she wasn't going to post it.  But not the case! you can view the post here.

Here is a description and item purchase list!

This table top once again utilizes the basics given at a venue. The round table, the white table cloth and basic white dishes. I wanted to have a fun table top that incorporates a worldly traveler's home office or study - lots of books, fun vintage cameras, maps or globes, and the perfect low-ball glass for that night cap. I wanted a look that was masculine but with feminine touches - white fluffy flowers but with leather napkin rings. The color palette was consistent of a soft and muted look, so there was nothing overpowering each other. I also had to add owls and pom poms just to give it a little quirkiness. I covered the white table cloth with mosquito netting to give some texture and some loose flowing drape to it and soften it with texture. I'm picturing the invitation to this fun and studious wedding would be shaped and written like an old manuscript, very simple with a typewriter font with old vintage maps for envelope liners. So fun.

About Courtney @ Flush Designs

This lovely invite was designed for a wedding all based around “The Firebird” ballet. Old, colorful, fancy, and whimsical, this simple tri-fold invite is sealed with a feather and wax. I can't wait to see this wedding! The ever lovely Kristin of Treasured Petal is doing the flowers. Apparently, she will be using my invite as inspiration. I can't wait. The wedding is in July, and I still have the menus, table numbers, seating chart and programs to prepare! The wedding is being coordinated by the none other then Kelly from Demaray Events. She is the nicest girl around! This wedding is in good hands!
