Hello, hello, my long lost loves. So good to see you again. Here’s another lovely pair of ladies that got their Oh, My Deer treatment for the big day. I love the way the guinea feathers contrast with this stunning eggplant color! If you’re interested in having your shoes outfitted with a little bit of OMD lovin’, feel free to contact me and we can discuss color combos, fabric options, and all the other goodness that comes along with having a pair of shoes that make your gams look even more fierce than they already do.

It’s Only Appropriate…

February 13th, 2009 @ 2:57 pm by Chelsea Petaja @ Oh My Deer

…that I make a lovely that resembles a daffodil! We’re having crazy weather here in Nashville; Mondays of 20s and weekends of 70s. I’ve noticed a lot of flowering trees and flowers being confused, especially the daffodils. Though they normally bloom early in spring, I can’t help but be a little sad for them. They’re just mixed up in this crazy weather.

{ Happy Friday. }

About ohmydeer

I can’t believe it was last summer that I started dabbling in my hair lovelies!  Sometimes it feels like ages ago, but most of the time it feels like I’m just getting my feet wet.

One of my first customers was a lovely bride from Singapore! To top it off, our wedding photographer, Jose Villa, was shooting the wedding, so I knew I’d get some killer photos of the ladies in action.

About ohmydeer
Two weekends ago, Tec and I spent a few days in Atlanta to visit my parents and to attend the launch party for the new Southern Weddings magazine. So I splurged on a clearance dress (which should be an oxymoron…) from Anthropologie, pulled on a pair of grey hand-me-down cowboy boots from my mom, and whipped up a pretty little lady for my hair. Of course Tec looked just as handsome as he always does… without spending a penny on new clothes. Go figure.

About ohmydeer
I’m so pumped to finally share this good news with all of you! If you’re in Washington, be sure to pick up your copy of Seattle Metropolitan: Bride & Groom! I feel so honored to be a part of such a stunning publication. Honestly, I’d characterize this magazine as the Blueprint (R.I.P.) of wedding magazines; the fonts, the layouts,

“I don’t know who invented the high heel, but all men own him a lot.”
-Marilyn Monroe

A bride I’ve been working closely with to create ten (yes, TEN) lovely fabric flowers for her bridesmaids surprised me with my first off-the-head request: embellishing her already too-hot-to-handle wedding shoes. Using the same flowers and feathers her bridesmaids will be wearing, we fancied up her shoes to match, and may I just say… the results are smokin’.

That ever-so-talented husband of mine has updated his commercial site, yet again. Oh, what a restless spirit he has. The images are out of this world… though I may be a bit biased.

I’m really loving these fabric flowers lately, and one bride wanted one to adorn a tulle band. She’d seen the Wendy piece of Sarah Gabriel’s and asked for something similar… and viola! Though I can take no credit for the creative beauty of the piece, I still really, really like her.

About ohmydeer

Since many of you sweethearts aren’t able purchase a copy of your very own Southern Weddings at your local bookstore, here’s the spread that the Huz and I were featured in. The entire magazine is beautiful, and full of other stunning weddings. I mean, 52 real weddings… in ONE issue? It’s like a magazine full of the best the blog world has to offer.

About ohmydeer

While Tec and I are on our two-week sabbatical from all things work related, we’ve tried our darnedest to stay away from the computer, email, phone, bla-bla-bla. But after receiving this email from Emily, we had to investigate further:

“oh my goodness…i just saw you and tec on the front of southern weddings…congrats!!! you guys look beautiful…how exciting for you both!”

What?! After immediately getting in touch with her, she informed us that our ugly mugs were on the premiere magazine cover for Southern Weddings! We’d been in contact with an editor at the magazine, but after submitting our interview responses, we hadn’t heard what they would be used for… well, viola!

According to the blog: You will be able to find us in Hawaii, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, California, Iowa as well as all of the Southern states! So be sure to snatch up your copy of the magazine if you’re lucky enough to find one on the book shelves. And though the magazine won’t be officially released until the 6th, apparently some retailers got a little slap-happy and have already put them out! So, so fun…

When we’re back in Nashville, I’ll try to pick one up to share with y’all. Let me know if you’re able to get your grubby little hands on one!

Much love, and a happy New Year!
