Before the year came to a close, we had the pleasure of shooting a Trash The Dress with Angela + James. They got married some time ago but decided that they wanted some images with a more contemporary feel. So Amina and I along with Patrick and Konrad went out to Union Station on a Sunday afternoon and had some fun. Union Station is one of my favourite indoor locations to shoot within Toronto as the light is great, and there are so many unique and interesting architectural elements to play off. We've been fortunate enough to have a few couples select this location for their wedding images as we're becoming quite good at working in it. Anyway, here are some of my favourite images from the shoot; Amina wins the award for “One of the best photos EVER” with first one, yikes! So good.
Jake and Lisa had a really wonderful wedding. I love shooting weddings that revolve around a culture other than what I grew up in. It's extremely interesting to learn new traditions and see different ceremonies. Jake and Lisa are both Korean and almost every aspect of their day was in their native tongue. None of us speak a word of Korean; as you can imagine this poses some very interesting and unique hurdles. However, in true StillMotion style, I think we crossed them with flying colours. We all worked extremely hard together as one entity to pool ideas and create one of our best SDEs yet. Patrick did an amazing job of editing it together in about 2 hours.
Enjoy.

I'll say this, we are pretty darn lucky. Rarely do we have couples who won't do what we ask.. usually, there are limits, but they'll do what we need them to in order to get the shot. Betsy and Chase have NO LIMITS (well ok, Betsy drew the line at the dead crow) and they were SUPER fun to work with. Chuck, the father of Chase hooked us up with this AMAZING photo session location and I shot my little heart out. Unfortunately we left Amina at home for this one so I shot alone, but Patrick was kind enough to come shoot with me during our second photo session location. It's always great to have a second set of eyes. I've included a couple of his photos.
The location we had was a really neat old abandoned warehouse. Chuck and the whole family did a lot of work to get us in and we're extremely grateful for that. It's always nice to work with people who REALLY care about the location of their photography, doing something fun, unique and totally timeless to them. To create something unique on your wedding day, something you don't see every day, that is something truly special. I believe that originality is what makes the imagery our couples receive theirs - art they are proud to call their own.
I have a great deal of respect for our couples. Betsy and Chase are no exception to this; they truly are amazing.
Amina and I are totally stuck in editing world right now, trying to get all the weddings out the door in the next few months. You may remember the amazing TTD movie that Patrick posted from NYC with Frances and James. I wanted to post some of the pictures as I just finished them up and I think they're pretty swell…! Let me know what you think of them; I'd love to hear.
