An enchanted garden is the inspiration for Christine’s custom wedding invitations. She loves flowers and pattern so I envisioned a simple dahlia silhouette filled with my signature lacy pattern. Hand-painted touches of creamy ivory, rich plum and sheer lilac are lovely against a champagne shimmer cardstock.

It rained all day at Carrie and Adam's wedding, but I think it just added to all the wonderful fall touches, and the lushness of Fort Tryon. Sometimes in the parks here in this great city of mine, when it rains, it's lush like a tropical rainforest outside, and all the leaves come alive with brilliant green. So yummy!
Hi there!
I had the opportunity to work with this exquisite palette for a wedding in August.
Jessica and Khalid were married at the Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria in sunny Austin, TX.
The colors were Tiffany blue, different shades of red and touches of grey. Birds were an important element, inspired and adopted from the Lenox Chirp China collection. The flowers were dahlias and roses for the bridal bouquets and carnations for the centerpieces.

The inspiration board: That is the actual building the couple got married in! It feels like it belongs in Morocco, no?
Vanessa & Tony had a super elegant wedding in Houston TX; everything was top notch from the beautifully amazing flowers to the 15 person band that had guests dancing all night long.
The ceremony was held at St. Annes Catholic church followed by the reception at the Corinthian in Downtown Houston.
Vanessa wanted a mix of HD and 16mm film to give their video a unique and nostalgic feel. 16mm film has such a beautiful texture and it really compliments skin tones.
The day was amazing, I'm so glad we were able to be apart of it!
Here is their Short Wedding Film!

This last week was a whirlwind experience! I had just completed the previous week's order, which included wedding cakes, lots of cupcakes, and of course a last minute 800 cake lollipop order (not to mention that my mother was out of town in Hawaii that whole week), and as I sat on my couch at home trying to take a breather, I got a call from none other than the Oprah Show!!! To say I was shocked was an understatement, but of course when they asked me if I could get 500 sugar cookies out for the Ellen Show by Thursday, I said yes! My family knows that I will almost always say yes to anything and then I just try to figure out how to do it!
For all of you who don't know the whole Oprah/Ellen story, Ellen had been trying for quite some time to land on the cover of O Magazine and this past week her wish came true. O Magazine wanted to send her a special gift to congratulate her on the day the magazine came out and that is where I came in. I have to say a big THANK YOU to my whole staff, family & friends for helping me pump out 500 amazing cookies in 48 hours…it was quite a task (along with running a storefront and making other daily orders as well), but they did an amazing job with it! So here are some photos that I took to document the fun experience! Hope you enjoy them!

Once again, I heart LOVE shooting family weddings! I also heart LOVE visiting and shooting Idaho in September! When you put family, weddings, and Idaho in September all together it equals a very happy and content Amelia!
Justin's sweet cousin Ashley contacted us a few months ago to attend and shoot her wedding. We anxiously accepted because 1. we love Ashley and 2. we really needed a good excuse to visit family in Idaho! I ended up having to go alone because Justin needed to be on set at Yo Gabba Gabba!, but I lucked out with great help with some of Justin's other cousins Jeramy and his sweet wife Shelley (you may recall these two from their wedding we shot last September, also in Idaho).
Congrats to Ashley and her new man Jarom!
Cathleen and Matt were married at the spectacular Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange, NJ in late September.

It was a beautiful, sunny day. Their ceremony was sweet, funny, and meaningful, and included this reading, from Plato's Symposium (a great non-religious reading!):
Ok so seriously have I mentioned lately how amazing Jesi Haack Weddings is? Well this wedding sure does prove it. On top of that this wedding is like my dream come true - not only is at my new favorite wedding venue Marvimon but it also was a collaboration of some of my favorite wedding vendors!

How amazing are the florals!? Succulents + Kale + the brides grandmother's pearls on her bouquet? Jesi Haack Weddings was the genius behind the lovely details of this event AND the ridiculously gorgeous florals! I adore the pops of purple like the bride’s adorable purple pumps!
We had some fun at Western Ave Studios last week when I invited a few friends over to help me arrange my office. I had several problems that needed solving:
1. Create a storage area that is functional, organized, and easily walled off without much construction or blocking of windows.
2. Find a place for my desk that clients won’t see immediately upon entering, and allows me to work even when there’s full sun pouring into the studio.
3. Create a comfortable seating arrangement for clients that will position them easily for viewing a slideshow or having an intimate chat during a meeting.
4. Make the furniture easy to move so that I can shoot studio work if I want to.
Not only did my friends help me accomplish ALL of the above, they even added a little foyer where I’ll be able to set up a display! Fabulous!! As we were getting closer to the end, I pulled out some B&W film that’s probably at least 5 years old, dropped it into my OM10 and shot the silliness that started unfolding after several hours of hard work:
