Kimberly @ Blue Ribbon Design's Picture
Kimberly Driessen, New York Vendor: Invitation Designer Website: Blue Ribbon Design About Me: I am the owner of Blue Ribbon Design, a graphic design studio in Manhattan that creates letterpress greeting cards and invitations. I specialize in vintage-inspired designs that incorporate historic details in a modern and elegant way. I love helping brides find the perfect visual motif to use throughout their wedding and especially enjoy working on events that take place at historic homes and gardens.
About Kimberly @ Blue Ribbon Design

I'm so glad J.Crew is finally expanding the number of locations where brides can see the weddings and parties collection in person - and now you don't even have to go uptown! I like that they used an illustration in this email blast as opposed to a photograph - it's a refreshing change of pace from the usual glossy (albeit charming) photo and has a nice vintage feel.

We absolutely love vintage clothing and vintage dresses in particular. Timeless Vixen Vintage (found via Snippet & Ink - Merry Go Round inspiration board) has not only an amazing selection of gorgeous dresses, but remarkably, many of them are in reasonable sizes as well! How fabulous would these dresses be for bridemaids?

The Best Bridesmaid Dress

June 11th, 2009 @ 12:38 pm by Wiley Valentine

During my recent trip to Hawaii, I purchased a wrap dress from one of those free standing boutique booths. The adorable sales girl wrapped it a bunch of different ways on me and said I could wear the dress a hundred different ways! She gave me a website to look up with instructional videos so I could learn the different ways to wrap the dress…reality : I find that the website does not exist, and I cannot find a good video anywhere! I was so bummed, so when I stumbled across butter by nadia I was so excited! These dresses are so beautifully made, and they actually do have videos that show you how to do the different wraps!

The array of colors available makes these the perfect solution for a bridesmaid dress.

thetreasuredpetal's Picture
Kristin Brancaleone, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA Vendor: Floral Designer Website: The Treasured Petal About Me: The Treasured Petal is a reflection of my love for scrumptious flowers, yummy textures, colors, ribbons, and all the other girly splurges that being a florist allows me to enjoy on a daily basis. Although I don't discriminate when it comes to flowers, my two favorites would have to be cattleya orchids and gloriosa lilies, which I carried in a ginormous bouquet on my wedding day. When I'm not crafting wedding florals and consulting with brides, I am usually at the dog park with my dogs Pesto and Basil, cooking healthy vegan dinners, watching Seinfeld with my husband Joe, at Bible study, or scouring craigslist for antique furniture to fill up my new house. I am also kind of a home-body and really love sipping tea in my pajamas while working my way down my google reader blog list!
About thetreasuredpetal

I will be the florist AND matron of honor in my beautiful sister's wedding in August. She is marrying the sweetest, most uplifting and respectable guy in the world (besides my wonderful hubby). Jenny-lyn is a girly girl just like me, and definitely wants pink (bright fuchsia and softer shades) to be the color of the day, accented by clean black and white details. Sounds fab! Even more fab is the fact that she's letting us all pick out our own bridesmaids' dresses. All 5 of her bms have completely different body types, styles and budgets. I'm by far the shrimpiest and perhaps the most girly of the group. I'm willing to splurge a bit on the dress, since I will most certainly wear it again.

Me and my sis. No, we’re not twins! I’m the shorter one with the lighter hair in case you are wondering.

JPO DressJPO Dress 3

We're at the New York International Gift Fair this week and one of our favorite finds has been John Patrick Organic, an ultra-chic organic cotton fashion studio created by designer John Patrick. We love these airy dresses from his Spring collection - how fabulous would these be for to wear to a summer wedding (as a bridesmaid or guest!)?
