I frequently get requests from clients as to how their lists should be submitted prior to my work on their envelope order. Though we have all this information outlined in our contracts, I thought a short explanation as to why I ask for your list this way might encourage more clients to send their lists in the proper format.

Submitting alphabetized lists: It may seem obvious to submit your address lists in alphabetical order (preferably numbered as well), but very often we receive lists that are not in any particular order to the blind eye like ours. This is an extremely important detail to streamlining the entire process for three main reasons:
We recently worked on a wedding taking place at the Adamson House in Malibu, CA. We always love this venue and this wedding was especially gorgeous. Elegantly low-key, this fete had a “backyard wedding” feel that was successfully pulled together by the ever-so-talented Beth Helmstetter.

We were more than delighted when Beth at Beth Helmstetter Events asked us to be involved in her clients’ Tamarindo, Costa Rica wedding! Take a look at the beautiful pictures from Julie at Comfort Studios.
Thank you to Linda at Soco Events for sharing these photos of our work from a May 2009 wedding!
The elegantly designed menus looked amazing with the table arrangements.

The escort cards were simple yet elegant, delightfully arranged near the bar area with this gorgeous floral arrangement.

We were so thrilled to receive gorgeous photos from Mary Jane Photography of a wedding we recently worked on.
We think their entire affair turned out beautifully. Beth Helmstetter commissioned us to design and calligraph all of their invitations, and we created the reception materials to match along with the adorably rustic sign below.

One of our brides recently submitted these photos from her Santa Barbara wedding that were featured on this week’s Style Me Pretty! We were excited to work on a variety of items for this wedding - escort cards, placecards, maps, totes and favor boxes.
We have worked with some very talented calligraphers over the past several years and have had the pleasure of meeting some fresh new faces recently as well. It made me think about how many clients actually know about calligraphy and how beautiful and effective it can be to incorporate its cost into your overall paper products budget. Today we will review where you can use a calligrapher and the costs involved. Yes, you don’t have to spend any money to have someone else write everything out for you but that can take hours and hours and your time is very valuable, so you might want to consider a calligrapher!
There are a few ways to calligraph using different nibs- yes that’s a technical term. Depending on the type of font, a calligrapher will use a different nib to create a thinner, more flourished font or a thicker, more chiseled font. Some fonts are so thin and delicate that an ink well can’t be used and a calligrapher will use an actual pen to create the lines of the font.
Here are some examples of calligraphy in a more chiseled font:

We create maps for any destination, and every design can be screened onto t-shirts for a wonderful keepsake gift!

We’ve worked with two separate couples that have gotten married on Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Mexico. We did a complete matching set for this couple including thank you cards with the adorable hotel icon that was threaded throughout their printed materials. They really made use of their map design, since once we had it all set they incorporated the icons into every aspect of their wedding, starting from the save the dates, all the way to the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.
The escort cards looked so sweet as did the table signs (which used icons, instead of numbers). Being a destination wedding, they included a weekend itinerary on the reverse side of their map (I just love all the tropical icons!), and also had a welcome bag for their guests featuring the monogram that we created for them. You can also see that they used their monogram for personalized stamps on their wedding invitations - it was a great way to tie everything together and use small touches to make their day special!
Normally, I would save this post for the following week but I just got these photos in my inbox from the wedding of Jeannie and John Lawlor, sister and brother-in-law of Michelle Beller at Mi Belle Inc. Photography, and I just had to post them immediately. ![]()
