We've worked with two separate couples that have gotten married on Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Mexico. We did a complete matching set for this couple including thank you cards with the adorable hotel icon that was threaded throughout their printed materials. They really made use of their map design, since once we had it all set they incorporated the icons into every aspect of their wedding, starting from the save the dates, all the way to the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.
The escort cards looked so sweet as did the table signs (which used icons, instead of numbers). Being a destination wedding, they included a weekend itinerary on the reverse side of their map (I just love all the tropical icons!), and also had a welcome bag for their guests featuring the monogram that we created for them. You can also see that they used their monogram for personalized stamps on their wedding invitations - it was a great way to tie everything together and use small touches to make their day special!
Normally, I would save this post for the following week but I just got these photos in my inbox from the wedding of Jeannie and John Lawlor, sister and brother-in-law of Michelle Beller at Mi Belle Inc. Photography, and I just had to post them immediately. ![]()

I was thrilled to see the photos from a recent wedding in Malibu that we did the hand-painted sand dollars for. The bride, Erin, contacted us pretty close to the event date, and I was happy to take on the small order of sand dollars for the place settings. ![]()

I often receive inquiries about mastering the art of calligraphy, and while I can't share proprietary information on my ink, nibs and other materials, I would like to share some general information on how to get started with calligraphy.

We were very excited to hear from Maria Cooke at Ritzy Bee, that our work was used in a wedding feature on May 13th on the Washington, D.C. Fox morning news special “Wedding Wednesdays.”
The piece focused on tips to meet your budget, and our items were used to enhance the decor. The set made good use of our signage, including phrases such as “Nuts for each other” in Camden Script, “She saw him She loved him She got him” in Upright Script and “Something Blue” in Ella Script. You can also see our placecards craftily tucked into the napkin setting at the tables.

Last month, we received these pictures from a bride in St. Petersburg, Florida. The bride was stunning on her big day, and the ceremony and reception were a wonderful celebration for the happy couple and their guests. The colors were green, blue and white, which were threaded throughout the event. While the bridesmaids wore blue, the florals were lovely arrangements of green and white.

One of my contacts at Elizabeth Anne Designs recently renewed her wedding vows and had the sweetest idea -a time capsule guest book. To celebrate with her husband and their friends and family, they created the time capsule together.
Each guest was given a folder in which they had materials to write down their 2009 resolutions, favorite memories of the couple, predictions for the next 10 years and their favorite things today. They had also been instructed to bring a non-perishable item that represented them now. Their folders and items all went into an adorable antique chest. The happy couple completed the time capsule by putting in one of their own programs, that day's newspaper and other various keepsakes from the event. Maybe they will have another vow renewal down the line and dig into the time capsule. ![]()
Last year, I worked on a wedding for a couple getting married in the Northern California wine country. They had the wonderful idea of sending a bottle of wine as their save-the-date, which set the tone early for a lovely, elegant affair with no details spared! They decided on Nickelson's Invitations in the OC and UK for their invites as well as menus and other printed materials.
The escort cards matched the menus in design and were creatively placed amongst rows of pears as the guests entered the reception area. These adorable touches exemplified the personality and thoroughness of the happy couple and made for a perfect wedding day!

Andria Ledon of Lilikoi Press asked me to do the lettering for her wedding invitations and materials, and I think they turned out beautifully. I really love the look of the blind embossing, as well.
